Current Status of AvP3
Alien vs Predator 3 is in the rumoured phase. We’ve heard nothing about another sequel since AvP Requiem was released. Producer John Davis mentioned in September 2008 that they’ve logically done all they can do with the AvP franchise.
“I think we’ve logically done what we could’ve done with the two AVP movies. But I think there’s something to go back to with Predator.” John Davis
In August 2022, as the new Predator film Prey had just been released, producer John Davis mentioned in an interview with Variety, what more they could do with Predator. AvP was mentioned for the first time in over a decade.
“Well, maybe there’s an origin origin story. Right? Maybe there’s another ‘Alien vs. Predator’ story in a different situation. And maybe there’s a new modern-day version. And maybe there’s something somewhere in between. I think this character can show up throughout history.” John Davis

Colin and Greg Strause
Colin and Greg Strause were adamant that they wanted to make Aliens vs Predator 3 when they were making AvP Requiem. They essentially wanted to make an AvP film in space, in the future but by the time they were hired, 20th Century Fox had already decided to go with Salerno’s script set on Earth. They incorporated elements of their ideas into the second film such as the Predator planet. ADI duo Tom Woodruff and Alec Gillis are also contenders for the director’s chair. Having worked on the alien special effects in each movie since Aliens, Tom Woodruff revealed in April 2008 that he and Alec Gillis had aspirations to direct AvP Requiem themselves.
AvP3 Cast
Nobody specific has been mentioned though it’s doubtful anybody who appeared in the first two AvP films would appear in the third.
AvP3 Storyline
The storyline for AvP3 is anybody’s guess. From the beginning, fans have wanted an Alien vs Predator film to take place in space far in the future. The Strauses had a few of their own ideas for a potential storyline. One of the ideas took place after Aliens and another one involved the Space Jockey creature seen in the original Alien. Of course, a movie set in space is costly and it’s obvious the studio doesn’t want to take the risk. If Alien vs Predator 3 does ever get the greenlight we could end up with another poor Earth-based setting. Shane Salerno also pitched a story to Fox where the Predator ship crashed in Afghanistan and the movie revolved around a special forces team.
I would see the movie, I am a huge fan of Predator. I love the last Alien vs. Predator requiem.
Why is it that nobody has written official “canon” for these creatures?
We don’t know what they call themselves, how they communicate, etc.
Especially for the Predators! What do they call their homeworld? Etc, etc.etc. ad nauseum

so where are we with this, and I fully agree the AVP needs to be far better then AVP2, also I rather like to see it happening in the space. shipped crashed in Afgan and special forces sounds like a nother cheap budget film. So far Alien 2 & 4 were the best I have ever seen. AVP1 impressed me, but honestly AVP2 killed it. I like to see similair battle between Alien / Predator as in AVP1. Alien Covenant was nice to see, but honestly was missing the action towards the Aliens (like in Alien2)

Check it out… , Predators in Alien planet ,whilst John Rambo in pursuit of the Predators ! :) ….ya ! ,wishful thinking , right … greatest combination of all three spirits , Alien ,Predator ,and the best of the human spirit ! boy wouldn’t that be a story to watchout for ! :)
What ? are they still deliberating ? , man its been 10 yrs since the last AVPR, its a no brainer, no matter how much I think abt it,, its simply exhilarating to even think about such a phenomenon called AVP … , I mean the pure Adrelin rush u get , when these too greatest monsters are pitted against eachother… its simply breathtaking to watch their match up… makers pls pls pls ,don;t waste anymore time… , it would be great ,if Peter Jackson is pulled into this… it would be EPIC !
One of the follow ups I would like to see is Sanaa Lathan who played Alexa Woods in the first AVP movie.
She was marked and acknowledged by one of the ships captains as to being one of the warriors. This would be a good plot line to have her brought back and given a more complex history of the Predator with her learning the ways of their people. This would make room for a 5th and 6th sequel. I know that this would require ever one to put their thinking caps on an take up the progressive challenge, like Alexa has a daughter and is brought up with the knowledge of the predators and decides to become a warrior and, well there is a story line but this would bring a lot of the feminists in to the action movies seeing that with work and perseverance they can accomplish grate things. IE same as the women that can be combat effect in todays Armed forces. I hope this sheds some light on your brain farts :)

Iv been a very patient fan of scifi movies but avp struck me as a seat glewer . These movies were original and very well thought out and I don’t know if any one else knows but a mind blowing discovery come to light . The terminator has something to do with it. It might be great if they made an AvP 3, but I was not a fan of the second one. At the end of the first, after the final Predator was killed by the queen, it was taken on board a ship with MANY other Predator’s, and then the PredAlien sprouted out of the dead one. Rather than call a Predator from the home planet, couldn’t they just send one from the ship?
I see this as a no-brainer, if some space scenes are in the budget. The first Alien v Predator book by Steve Perry almost needs no changes to convert to a screenplay. Perhaps add some more screen time and backstory for one of the characters, add more of a beginning. The middle and end for a film are all there, and a very nice epilogue scene. Only real downside is that two small but somewhat defining scenes are aready referenced in AVP1 and Predators.
Could have nice sweeping camera shots, be nice and gritty, not ruin canon as is, and a couple of affectionately missed marines could be thrown in. Terrific story that personally I’d love to see on the big screen. After reading this book, AVP1 was a huge letdown.

I love avp the most part I love Celtic predator he is the best predator out if all of the predator movies and if you do a alien v.s predator 3 he should be in it and I know he got killed in the first avp but since you guys did so good in the first movie I probably thought you could work on bringing him back to life!!!!
I really think they should make an AvP.3 the first two were great in my opinion.It should take place in Space and fallow up on what develops after Colonel Stevens gives the Predators blaster to Ms.Yutani would like to know what kicks off after that

first off sigourney weaver did not want to do a alien 5 all this time cuz she felt like the aliens are more scary in space she was right avpr was ok but the predalien queen was really wasted plus who remembers in aliens 1986 when ripley sad god dame it that’s not all if just one of thus things gets here that will be all..the 4 films she was scared that the aliens code take over the world that was back in 2077 so we find out the alien’s have been on reath all this time avpr takes all the story’s and shits on them …..

Well you have the opening with a the star of AVP 1 bearing the mark of the warrior. We have not yet seen a predator matriarch. The story line could involve a matriach coming to the rescue of a Descendant ie granddaughter involving a last life struggle with aliens between the the grand mother fighting off the last of an alien attack protecting the lives of her granddaughter and the last surviving but fatally injured predator. Just as she kills the last alien the closest predator ship arrives and she being near death and unable to see starts to fight off the pr distorts that hav come down. Including a high ranking elder matriarch predator. Grandmother dies before them leaving on her granddaughter. Unsure what to do indecis N th child is to be killed. However the matricah intervenes on seeing the old aged warrior scar on her face. The matriarch being a fierce warrior mother demands the granddaughter be saved at the peril of those who will challenge her. Th child is saved and taken to the predator home world or out station. AVP 4 is Then on the books.
What about the Predator Alien creature that came out of the Predator Warrior at the end of Alien vs. Predator, they could make a whole movie about that… Just saying.
Unfortunately i doubt this will ever be made. I found the first 2 AVPs to be entertaining but they wernt received very well at the box office & reviews. I cant see any studio forking over the money to do this right. However i do think doing a top notch animated rated R version direct to dvd & bluray to be very possible & in my opinion would be awesome considering we’re already going to get 4 more Alien films (Ridley Scott original Alien prequels & Aliens sequel w/ Sigourney Weaver) & a new Predator film “The Predator” by Shane Black.
I hope they really do make a AVP3 because I showed my friends the first two and they thought it was gross but thought it was awesome I really love this movie so much I hope they come threw with this movie. I just can’t wait anymore I love these movies I just hope they make it fast and not let their fans hanging if so I will move on and be a fan to other movies.
Three wanted make it
I think a part 3 would be good. Could be set in space, maybe on Preditors planet thats how it ended in part 2 with that deal and a ship moving up. The arrangment betwen earth and the preditors and their home planet. Get writer and producer of Preditor involved; use your imagination.
This one should take place in the predator home world where a xenomorph queen escaped with some of her subjects in the predator planet and humans are trying to recapture the alien queen with her subjects unaware that the predators are hunting them down.

Aliens- how did original ship on LV 421 end up there with a cargo hold full of thousands of eggs??
Predator- what happened to Adrian Brodie & Latino Lady??
AvPRNow humans have energy based weapon tech, and hopefully the Predator ship that crashed is discovered outside the blast radius of the nuclear bomb the army dropped & the pod that brought the 2nd Predator down from orbit can be discovered at the bottom of the lake he landed in!

The Alien vs Predator story- now that humans have Predator energy based weapons, “finally”, and let’s assume the crashed Predator ship in the beginning of AVPR was outside of the blast radius of the human nuclear bomb, & the separate pod that brought down the second Predator is found at the bottom of the lake it landed in. Then maybe there is more space travel technology that can also be reverse engineered.
