Current Status of AvP3
Alien vs Predator 3 is in the rumoured phase. We’ve heard nothing about another sequel since AvP Requiem was released. Producer John Davis mentioned in September 2008 that they’ve logically done all they can do with the AvP franchise.
“I think we’ve logically done what we could’ve done with the two AVP movies. But I think there’s something to go back to with Predator.” John Davis
In August 2022, as the new Predator film Prey had just been released, producer John Davis mentioned in an interview with Variety, what more they could do with Predator. AvP was mentioned for the first time in over a decade.
“Well, maybe there’s an origin origin story. Right? Maybe there’s another ‘Alien vs. Predator’ story in a different situation. And maybe there’s a new modern-day version. And maybe there’s something somewhere in between. I think this character can show up throughout history.” John Davis
In October 2024, President of Production at 20th Century Studios, Steve Asbell, mentioned that another Alien Predator crossover film might happen in the future but it won’t be anything like the original AvP films.
It wouldn’t be in the way you think. That’s the thing. Not in the way that it will just be called Alien vs. Predator or anything like the original movies. If we do this, they’ll be organically created out of these two franchises that we’ve continued with characters that we fall in love with and those characters will combine…perhaps. But we haven’t gotten to that point. And we’re not just going to bang it out.
The Director of AvP3
Colin and Greg Strause
Colin and Greg Strause were adamant that they wanted to make Aliens vs Predator 3 when they were making AvP Requiem. They essentially wanted to make an AvP film in space, in the future but by the time they were hired, 20th Century Fox had already decided to go with Salerno’s script set on Earth. They incorporated elements of their ideas into the second film such as the Predator planet. ADI duo Tom Woodruff and Alec Gillis are also contenders for the director’s chair. Having worked on the alien special effects in each movie since Aliens, Tom Woodruff revealed in April 2008 that he and Alec Gillis had aspirations to direct AvP Requiem themselves.
AvP3 Cast
Nobody specific has been mentioned though it’s doubtful anybody who appeared in the first two AvP films would appear in the third.
AvP3 Storyline
The storyline for AvP3 is anybody’s guess. From the beginning, fans have wanted an Alien vs Predator film to take place in space far in the future. The Strauses had a few of their own ideas for a potential storyline. One of the ideas took place after Aliens and another one involved the Space Jockey creature seen in the original Alien. Of course, a movie set in space is costly and it’s obvious the studio doesn’t want to take the risk. If Alien vs Predator 3 does ever get the greenlight we could end up with another poor Earth-based setting. Shane Salerno also pitched a story to Fox where the Predator ship crashed in Afghanistan and the movie revolved around a special forces team.
It would be cool if AVP 3 was about the humans testing the predator weapons and the Alien DNA.
this movie has been in development for years, hopefully it will happen in the near future
i just wish they bring out a cartoon of aliens , from a young age i could not wait to 18 years old to see the aliens films but i was a kid at the time and find out that kenner toys did make the toys of aliens like the flying alien queen or bull alien and snake alien i not sure but it look cool to see in the films
John if you really believe that you’ve done all that you can with alien vs predator.than maybe you are not the right person for the job.
i ready like both aliens and predator series, i frist watch alien when i turn 19 years old i was very big big fan of aliens series the same with the predator i could not wait to sit down watch them . it was was a real shame for me, back in 2004/2005 my copy of alien vs predator two disc set was around some girl house in my college class as well other dvd’s of my. but she was keeping them for me sine i pay for them in the first place . i first watch alien vs predator on my lunch break . it a shame the 2 disc this not same as the one in boxsets of all alien vs predator in the uk just be careful when someone said they keeping well clean from a girl (who tell her boyfriend that boys well not still arouder home where he not arouned) they went school with if i know why at the time because it cost me big time. beware of girls who take your stuff from you and give to their friends behide your back
I hope that the predator actually survives this time.

They should make a third AVP because of wolf dying and the nuclear blast and the predator world that’s very interested I’m a big fan of predator so it is very worth it because there’s a lot of comic books a lot of different stories about the predator predator is just badass
I really hope they do make this movie but Since I’m seeing all these new predator and alien movies coming out hopefully we’ll see the 3rd Installment of the alien versus predator franchise

A yautja disobeyed an order from the elder so he gets punished and put on a planet full of Xeno’s, (Like the one in covenant)
And fights his way through and at the end fights the elder

If anything they should focus on the Yautja’s homeworld and work from there, maybe a Xeno outbreak on there ? I’m hyped anyways if they announce it, I love this franchise too much <3

I think AvP was a terrible idea, the skull in the trophy cabinet was just a nod to some of the folk who worked on both films and AvP Requiem was a terrible film it was too dark and the acting was poor the predator only had 11 mins of screen time in the whole film.
Predator and Predator 2 are the only good films, and were both rated 18 every other predator film was rated 15 which was a bad idea and contributed to them all being a complete farce
You also don’t wait 14 years for a sequel, that is never a good idea.

They need the green light already for the 3rd installation of the AVP saga. Nothing interesting really in movies these days. Go AVP!
