MTV News: So some footage is about to debut in Austin. Have you seen any of it yet?

Alice Braga: I haven’t seen. I saw it on set, some of the things. I’m really excited because it was a really cool project. We had a lot of fun on set. By what I’ve seen, the photography is beautiful. Gyula Pados is the [director of photography]. And Nimrod Antal is the director. But the predators, fans, they look really cool! I was really scared. The guys that play them, they’re really tall.

MTV News: In terms of special effects, how much is it going to be CGI and how much is going to be practical effects?

Braga: Should I answer that? They really nailed it out. I think it was nice that they took a long time to go back to make the Predators. Being the only girl in the film, I had a blast.

MTV News: Tell us about your character. She’s a special forces soldier?

Braga: She’s a girl from special forces. She’s a tough cookie. She’s a sniper. She jumps into the story and is trying to run for her life, which is classic “Predator” films.

MTV News: Such a great cast. We’re looking forward to seeing Adrien Brody in an action role, which people were a little skeptical about. What was he like on set in embodying that action hero?

Braga: He was amazing. When we arrived in Hawaii where we first started shooting the film, it was really interesting that he was willing to really get stronger because his body is naturally thin. All of us, we bonded together as a team. We were working out together. He really changed his body, which is great because he challenged himself to do something he hasn’t been doing. I think he’s done it for some films, but never as an action hero. I think he did a great job. I think people are going to be really impressed with his work. He’s a phenomenal actor and really a great person. And a great friend.

MTV News: What is it about Nimrod, in his approach on set and how he pulls everything together, that has everyone so excited?

Braga: He’s one of the nicest directors that I’ve worked with. He’s involved and passionate. Not only technically and with the crew, but with the actors. Nimrod is really passionate about action figures! He has a lot of toys in his office. He’s like a boy. Being directed by someone who loves that type of film is a blast. He feels like a kid on set telling that story. It’s great for the fans to have someone like him directing this film because he will bring what the fans want to see.

MTV News: Did Arnold Schwarzenegger show up on set? Are we gonna see that rumored cameo?

Braga: Who knows? You’re not gonna get it out of me!

We went on to ask the actor just what fans of the original movie can expect and why he thinks they will love this new version. “I think that you’re going to get to see a combination of classic Predators with a modern twist told by very, very competent filmmakers,” the actor stated. “I think that the images in this movie are going to rival any other movie in its genre for quite some time,” he proclaimed.

While those are pretty high expectations for the film, Goggins did agree that the movie features a very talented group of accomplished actors and filmmakers. “Absolutely, it was extraordinary. It really was extraordinary. I think the thing that I’m most excited about is our lack of someone that is really big,” explained Goggins. “We’re all regular guys. Except … we do have Oleg Taktarov (Righteous Kill) and he will tell you how big he is, multiple times,” joked the actor. “But for the most part we are all average builds and I think that gives people an opportunity to see themselves in this movie. At the end of the day I think the thing that I’m most excited about is it’s not just an action movie but it’s a movie about these characters that hopefully you will grow to love over the course of the story.”

• Machine: As well as processing exotic ores, the BG-386 Refinery provided electrical power to the colonists at Freya’s Prospect.

Two new Survivor maps in which up to four Marines battle to stay alive against increasing swarms of Aliens:

• Outpost: The site of the original Weyland-Yutani colony on BG-386 was abandoned, and soon reclaimed by the planet’s voracious jungle plant life.

• Hive: Deep in the heart of the Freya’s Prospect Refinery lays the Xenomorph Hive.

The “Swarm Map Pack” will be available on 18 March for €5.99/ £4.79/ 560 Microsoft Points.”

The pack, called Swam Map Pack, are the four levels released with the Survivor and Hunter editions of the game.

“Ridley told me some of his ideas when we were here in Toronto. He has a very clear understanding of where this should go. They kind of stopped dead one of the greatest horror franchises there’s ever been, and it had legs to go on. So I’m hoping he’ll revive another three. The world certainly wants it, and the fans want it – everybody.”

“I’m very pleased to announce that from tomorrow, and for a limited time only, full outfits from Aliens vs Predator will be available in the European PlayStation Home Thread Store on the PlayStation 3. These costumes, a male and female version for each species in the game, are offered as complete packages, but also available to download separately. These downloads are accessible for a limited time, and will be taken out of the Thread Store on the 31st of March.”

“Hometown hero Robert Rodriguez (“Planet Terror”) and director Nimrod Antal (“Armored”) will treat SXSW film festival attendees in Austin next week to a sneak peek at footage from their upcoming actioner “Predators.” The event will take place at the Alamo Ritz Theater during the kick-off of the 2010 fest, March 12.”

As promised by SEGA, the PC Patch #2 has been released today. There have been some additional changes to the PC changelog, which you can find listed here. The update will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted.

In addition to the PC Patch, Rebellion have now released their dedicated server beta software for their multiplayer shooter, allowing PC gamers to choose how they want to play and giving them control over some of the game’s settings. Check out the details below:

“Due to the demand from the community and better than anticipated progress on the server software, we have decided to release the dedicated server as an Open Beta rather than a Closed Beta, and make it available to all. To access the Dedicated Servers from the PC client, go to Player Match > Browse > change the “server type” filter to “Dedicated (Internet)” and then click browse. Please note that the initial availability of servers may be limited. (…)

(…) The dedicated server will be available via the “tools” tab of the Steam client. If you already have a copy of the full game installed, it will simply add the dedicated server executable to the install folder. If you do not have the full game installed, it will need to download approximately 15GB of data.

One install is required per machine, and multiple instances of the server executable can be run simultaneously – the server currently requires the Steam client to be running, only one steam client/log on is required per machine regardless of the amount of instances you run, and the Steam account used to log on does not need to own a copy of the full game. Please refer to the dedicated server readme for more information and help, in particular the known issues section. A server command guide is also available in the installation folder.”

“The movie is set to open this July and follows Iron Man 2 as another high profile summer movie for the busy composer. The announcement ends speculation that Alan Silvestri might return to the franchise, as the movie is a direct sequel to the orginal Predator movie that Silvestri has scored in 1987.”
