Coming exclusively from movie news outlet Deadline, we have a new piece of casting news for Noah Hawley’s currently in production Alien series for FX. Actor Timothy Olyphant has been cast in the upcoming series, apparently playing the synthetic scientist character Kirsh. Per Deadline:
Details about Olyphant’s character are not being disclosed. I hear he plays Kirsh, a synth who acts as a mentor and trainer for Chandler’s Wendy who is a hybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult.
Olyphant is a high profile actor who has been in numerous films such as The Crazies, Snowden, Hitman, Scream 2, and many others. He’s also starred in numerous TV series and has previously worked with Alien series showrunner Noah Hawley on his FX series Fargo.
Filming for the Alien series was disrupted due to the Hollywood industry strikes, but Hawley has stated that he’s been able to shoot some of the first episode and filming is set to resume early in 2024. Olyphant joins confirmed cast members Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, and Kit Young.
