With the release of Marvel’s solicitations for February 2024, we now know that a new 4 issue series from Marvel and returning writer Ed Brisson is due to hit comic book store shelves on the 21st of February 2024!
For years, Theta has hunted and killed Predators in her search for the one that killed her parents. Now she’s on a mission to free the human captives from the Predators’ game preserve. But when a Super Predator is on the loose, even a seasoned hunter like Theta can become prey…
Ed Brisson is returning to pen his 3rd arc with Marvel, titled Predator: The Thrill of the Hunt (not to be confused with Dark Horse’s novella Alien vs. Predator: Thrill of the Hunt), continuing the storyline of Theta. Brisson is joined by artist Francesco Manna who has worked on many Marvel titles. Francesco will also be providing variant covers, while Cory Smith will be doing the standard covers.
The first issue of Predator: The Thrill of the Hunt will be on the shelves at your local comic book store on the 21st of February 2024! Thanks to Chieftain Suom for the heads up!

Update/Correction 24/11/2023: Per Marvel’s official announcement for the series, this arc is actually titled Predator: The Last Hunt. Speaking about the new series, writer Ed Brisson explained that:
“Theta has been carrying a lot of guilt over the events of the last arc and has made it her mission to find the Predator Stasis Farms and free the hundreds (thousands?) of prisoners being held for the Predators’s hunting pleasure—at the same time, her 20 plus years of Predator hunting is all coming to a head as she suddenly finds herself in the crosshairs as it becomes clear that her mission may be a trap.”
But maybe indeed, they are human ones.
If I recall the bikes are from an earlier issue from a human base or from the sandpiper. I can't remember fully but they are human bikes. The main pred is a Berserker predator but there wasn't anything to distinguish it as such. I was a little confused as to whether the lower mandibles where exposed or not as they where the same colour as his mask?
I've also heard if you say "Super predator" three times in a mirror Corporal Hicks will appear
A few questions:
Are Theta and Pablo riding on Predator bikes at the beginning? They have Pred armor and weapons, but a human ship, so I wonder what bikes these are.
Is the main Predator a "Super Predator"? The back cover seems to indicate he is, but he sort-of looks like a normal one.
Do we have any news regarding the next chapter? I know Predator vs Black Panther is the next run, but haven't seen anything regarding Theta's story.
I've really enjoyed that it was another series that wasn't a straight forward Predator rocks up to hunt, but it was a focused narrative exploring other aspects of the Predators that are very terrifying in themselves.
Artwork has been great! Though I either forgot or didn't realize the Super Predator (vom) had an open bottom mask. That was cool to see in this!
Yeah, I dug it. Looking forward to reading this through in one again.

All in all it was another fun Predator story with some beautifully gruesome art panels 7.5/10

Last John was active was in a Thai jungle before the kidnapping. Wonder what was that mission was about.
THEORY: Dutch did had a fight with Cleopatra in Laos I believe so perhaps John was tracking her trail and got kidnapped.
John is still looking for Dutch, thinking that he might have been kidnapped like the others.
Couldn't help but grin at that one panel with Theta, John, Paolo, and a huge ass crew behind her on a new mission all together. Kind of nice to see she gots some great help after being solo, than a duo for so long. I'm still not all that ok with how the last issue portrayed the Predators animosity towards Theta, but I hope the next issues make up for it.

HOWEVER I am curious about that ending...

I do hope that we can see Dutch Schafer come in and have great brotherly reunion. He did say the cells in his body stopped aging so at least we are talking about a huge extension on his lifespan. Would suck terribly if John does kick the bucket and John never finds out what happened to Dutch.
Overall, the first issue is flawed but still enough for me to continue on reading. Think the first spoiler is the only major flaw that is doing it for me.
EDIT: Giving much thought to this days later and I realize it's even worse with the comparison of Predator vs Wolverine. This particular Predator (lets just call him Copperhead for now) kept coming back for a man that had claws that can grow from his hands and with a fast regeneration factor. Copperhead soon found out his nemesis had gotten a indestructible skeletal metal alloy upgrade AND STILL KEPT GOING AFTER WOLVERINE. Even still fought Wolverine to the death knowing full well he can't take him out.

Just finished "The Preserve TPB" and it was pretty good.
Well this is damn exciting and unexpected! Very very eager for this one! Thoroughly enjoyed The Preserve (felt like Brisson had found his feet with Theta more, she's still the main issue I had with the first arc) so quite keen to see where he goes from here. I feel like this was setup nicely from the cryo-storage angle introduced in The Preserve too.
From how I read things, I had thought that there was. I mean the way I looked at it, the 2013 reboot with Fire and Stone had lead me to believe they dumped most if not all of the old stuff.
I'm really hyped on this! Love that Brisson is bringing back OG comic characters
The Dark Horse stuff is canon again?!
Or are they picking characters and re-canonizing them like how they did for Star Wars?

What is Dutch's brother doing on a Predator's game planet in the far reaches of space?! And more importantly – will he get in Theta's way? The lifelong refugee has revenge to serve up – and she is not about to let it get cold. Brisson and Manna's epic adventure continues!
I don't know, but I had also a feeling that it might be the case. The ones from Predators are hunting others from their species, wchich I presume isn't normally allowed, since we rarely see that behaviour. And upgraded Predator is acting more like a thug than a hunter, he isn't interested in hunting, just in artifically making himself stronger and killing for the sake of killing. Of course if we ignore that the movie is implying that most of Predators are doing it. I always thought that only tghat specific upgraded one, or eventually small group lost their way and started those experimentations, and that's why we see a conflict with fugitive. Of course it's better not to think much about story in The Predator, better to just flow with it and have dumb fun.

No proper announcement. Was just in the solicitations for the month.

The Preserve.
My f**king eye is twitching over the use of the name Super Predators. But I do agree. I hope they continue to use new designs. I really don't want to see any of Predators' Predators reused at all.
