Even though Alien Day has ended, that doesn’t mean we’re done with the news. It seems the famous unmade Aliens sequel is finally releasing some its long kept secrets. Neil Blomkamp’s Alien film has always garnered a great interest from the community. A great deal was promised, yet it got cancelled without much information on its story and plot details. What we do know from multiple interviews and concept art releases over the years, you can find in the Alien 5 news section on Alien vs. Predator Galaxy.
New information hasn’t seen the light of day since exactly one year ago, on Alien Day 2023. Not until Mike today released a new video detailing the history of the timeline regarding the project with never before released plot elements. Mikey is a professional photographer and videographer who’s had regular access to behind the scenes material for many film productions. They’re one of the original founders of the Alien vs. Predator Galaxy Podcast, and they’ve brought us multiple first hand reliable information regarding Alien: Romulus.
The unexpected new revelation seems to be that the Space Jockey Derelict from the original film was made from human DNA, by the Aliens themselves, using their own secretions to mutate their victims. For more detail, be sure to check out Mike’s video.

You summed that up much better than I tried to.
Ridley makes movies like he always has, and will continue to til he drops dead on the job. That impulsiveness you describe I think goes a bit further into flights of fancy that shape entire films for good or ill (not enough people saying no to the veteran), and coupled with a clear affection for at least his version of the Alien universe we've had what we've had (I kinda dig it but ymmv).
The thing is with Ridley is that he says a lot of things - and a lot of those things contradict other things he has said or what came before. I always find him very off the cuff in his thoughts on the films (his comment about the Alien regrowing itself after being mangled in Covenant comes to mind). That said one thing is that Ridley will do what Ridley wants, even if that flies in the face of canon (even the canon he created).
Yeah, but you have the beefy knowledge to balance that out!
Not sure if he would have ignored them. But the ultimate goal was to get it to line right up with the beginning of ALIEN. How successful that would have been is still unknown. But I can see it getting messier if they'd tried to do that.
Does anyone here know more?
In Alien Covenant, the eggs were created through David's experiments. However, this would not necessarily lead to the annulment of a queen in the later films, as this species could certainly evolve.
The studio might also possibly require appropriate continuity.
Yeah, I am usually good about it, but this one I had missed one that was a liiiittle longer than that. Usually it tells you the part that is the problem, but this time it was saying it was the whole video. It was likely a glitch on that part, but once I figured out what part it was, I was golden.
Some things: We know the Blomkamp project was under the code name Red Harvest. Not sure if it tied to anything in the films, but I think it was just a play on the Blue Harvest code name from Star Wars.
'Awakening' may have been the name, but I didn't have confirmation of that. It gets confusing when Ridley starts talking. It likely could have been, and maybe played into that the films following ALIENS were all a dream (how original). That is all speculation on my part though, as I was trying go figure out how he was going to go about retconning things. Was there going to be an acknowledgement of the other sequels? Or was he just going to outright ignore and erase them from the timeline? I'm not sure.
My sources all claimed Ridley's 3rd prequel was titled "ALIEN Destiny". They all referred to it by that name too, and we're deeply involved in the franchise. So I'll take their word for it over some internet speculation. Something I didn't put in the video, as it wasn't really relevant to the Blomkamp topic was that they we're going to shift the naming conventions of the films slightly by changing Prometheus to ALIEN: Prometheus to match ALIEN: Covenant and then the upcoming ALIEN: Destiny to make it more cohesive for the branding. This was shortly before the buyout, and when that went down, these plans were scrapped.

First off, THANK YOU! I didn't expect people to respond so well, and this is a HUGE compliment. I'm far from skilled enough to pull of something like that, but who knows? Maybe in the future!
The things I got hit for was using footage from the films. It's a risk anytime you use footage, and I saw the results of that risk this time. A simple few snips to the footage resolved that.
@Nightmare Asylum
I am not sure if they overlapped at all. I really think Blomkamp's project wasn't all that far along and never had an actual start date for production. Anything that was made, he was pushing for on his own dime. And I'm not sure if Destiny really made it that far at all either. It sounded like they shut the idea down really quickly after Covenant's release, so anything Ridley ever said about it was him speculating as well.
I don't have info on Paradise Lost at the moment! I'm hoping to get more details whenever I can link up with some people involved with the franchise again in the future.
I'm not so sure... It was explained to me that this DNA stuff was part of his initial pitch. I completely forgot about the request to change something for Ridley, and I'll try to find out what that is when I see these folks again.
@XENOMORPHOSIS
It was the same folks who shared the Blomkamp information with me who worked in the franchise at a very high level. I can't name names, as they could get in trouble. So everyone will remain anonymous for their job safety. Sorry that I can't give exact details on who it was. But as Nightmare Asylum pointed out, it was also brought up during the podcast interview with Eric Calderon and Dave Baker, who were involved in "Aliens vs Predator: Annihilation," the AVP anime.
This is something I was thinking about as well... Blomkamp's own comments start to contradict themselves. I understand his frustration with the cancellation of the project, but he seems to have let his ego get involved with some of that...
The thing about the actors wanting to be involved too, they may have really liked the ideas, but they may also not have the best judgement of what is good either. We're all human, and they could have easily been sold on the idea of a redo, while not really looking at the scope of the whole thing. I mean, Sigourney wanted Ripley to die in 3, and now she's saying it wasn't a great ending for her. So is she the best judge of quality? It's hard to say.
I don't know the whole plot front to back on the scriptment pitch, but there are more details that will hopefully come out as time goes on and I'll make a follow up if that's the case.
Thanks again for watching everyone!!!
Mfw this project got the torch.
I'm still laughing at this ;-)
But at the end of the day, its a bit corny and gets pretty silly in the last third.
And Event Horizon tanked.
At least Keith put some effort into it
Every movie that Blomkamp has made since District 9 (aside from Gran Turismo) is just District 9, but not as good. He's a one trick pony.
My goodness, what a crappy idea!!!
Thank you FOX for pulling the plug and putting an end to this nonsense!!!
Did Sigourney actually say she thought the idea was great???
or did she not know any details???
It was interesting to see how things developed back then.
At first it was said that Ripley and Hicks and Newt were coming back, which made many fans (especially those who didn't like A3) scream with joy.
The first concept drawings actually looked interesting, but when I saw the xeno suit I realized that it was crap.
Unfortunately, there were only a few fans who became skeptical and the majority were still panting for the "real Aliens sequel".
ALIEN 3 IS THE SEQUEL and it should stay that way!!!
Personally, I even think the 4-armed Big Chap sucks.
I found the sets and environments quite interesting, and most of the costumes were fine.
But everything that had to do with the alien was shitty and headed in a disastrous direction.
Further proof that so many directors can tell me how much they love the Alien franchise, but end up ruining everything.
I hope that Fede finally teaches us something better.
Hahaha. This made me laugh. A lot.
That dropship design. Yer I see what you mean.

Didn't mind the colouring so much as the wasted opportunities for ship and creature design.
The gender changes were nice though.
I dislike plenty, I just don't waste my time venting about it online too much (my wife or close friends are reserved for that ... hahaha).
I quite liked both of them in parts. Perhaps the colouring on the original Alien book was a bit too colourful for my liking.
Always said just give us this film in a comic book adaptation. DH did a great job with the original Alien script and unpublished Alien3 one too.
I love Alien 3. And I do love Alien Resurrection (to an extent). But I'm alway open to breaking continuity and just diverging onto something else after Aliens.
Must say that with all that is known about Blomkamp's movie, I'm not mourning the loss of it not being made. I really am not keen on genetic experimentation in movies in general and it's mostly for this reason that I could do without his take on Alien.
Saying that, I do feel for the guy as he obviously put a lot of work and, apparently, money into the project and it looks like he was given the absolute runaround by Fox.
