Over the last couple of days we’ve been starting to see rumors’ making the rounds that Prey will finally be making its way to Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray! The rumor first appeared on Twitter, but has since made it’s way to the home-release focused website Digital Bits. Digital Bits report that they’d been hearing the same from multiple sources and were confident that Prey would be seeing a Blu-ray and 4K release!
“Finally today, we’re hearing from multiple industry sources now that 20th Century Studios is preparing Dan Trachtenberg’s successful Predator prequel Prey (2022) for release on Blu-ray and… even better… physical 4K Ultra HD! The film has, up to now, been available only via streaming on Hulu here in the States (and via Star on Disney+ internationally). We’ve been quietly tracking this one for a few months, but we’ve heard it now from multiple independent sources, so we’re confident that it’s legit. As soon as we have firmer or official details, rest assured we’ll let you know. But it would certainly be very welcome news indeed.”
Of course, it is still rumor at this point, but Prey has finally started to see licensed merchandise. Earlier this week Hot Toys announced they were working on a new collectible for Prey, Cavity Colours has also released a clothing collection, Sarah Schachner’s brilliant score has received a vinyl release, and NECA is apparently working on a Feral Predator.

CONFIRMED! God I can't wait to get my hands on this. Excited to see a few deleted scenes and get a commentary track, too. Odd that the Comanche dub doesn't seem to be included though.
You're right. Just feels a bit hopeless considering all that's going on with Disney since Iger's return. The hardest part is just waiting for some confirmation. Almost a year in and nothing. At this point I'd accept a "Sorry, not interested in releasing it on physical media." At least this way we don't have spend our days wondering.
Not entirely true. Yeah, AUS is getting cut out. But there were talks a few months back of pushing physical media sales more in other countries because they've found it brings in more profit than streaming.

Of course, we have to see how this all plays out first.
Well, I guess you can kiss the hope of a PREY blu-ray goodbye, because if Disney is already ending physical media in Australia and New Zealand, you bet they're already planning to end it completely.
