Dan Trachtenberg’s fantastic Predator film, Prey, was nominated for 6 Emmy Awards last year. It was, in fact, the first “TV movie” in 9 years to receive Emmy nominations for both writing and directing. Prey was also nominated for Outstanding Television Movie, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Limited Movie, Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Movie, and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Limited Movie.
The actual award ceremony took place yesterday and Prey came home with an Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing For A Limited Or Anthology Series, Movie Or Special! Responding to the win on Twitter, Prey director Dan Trachtenberg had a funny understated remark to make: “This was so cool!!“

While rumours and clickbait fly around the interview about a potential sequel to Prey, when speaking to The Playlist in August 2023, Dan Trachtenberg said of a follow-up:
“I can’t really say anything about that right now, but I’ll say while we were finishing the movie, we were having really exciting conversations. The studio, myself, the writer, and the producers about what crazy things could we do next. And I’ve never stopped, no one stopped thinking about how cool things could be going forward.”
