We’re awaiting news on other Region releases. While there has been no announcement regarding a follow-up to Prey, the topic of a sequel is something that has been talked about. Speaking earlier this month, director Dan Trachtenberg told The Playlist:

“I can’t really say anything about that right now, but I’ll say while we were finishing the movie, we were having really exciting conversations. The studio, myself, the writer, and the producers about what crazy things could we do next. And I’ve never stopped, no one stopped thinking about how cool things could be going forward.”

They didn't say they're going to make importing physical media illegal or something. Just they aren't selling it locally.

And they aren't. $48+$16 shipping is obscene.

Awesome to see physical available for Australia after the word that got around before about Disney cutting them off from all physical.

Quote from: RoguePred1987 on Aug 28, 2023, 12:50:28 AMHonestly I'd be over the moon if they gave the previous Predator movies updated standalone 4K releases.

Literally why, what could you possibly gain with that idea, they are already pretty much perfect.
For any number of reasons. More sales, updated features and art, and not least of all because outside the boxset individual 4K releases of the previous films aren't readily available at most retailers. And with Prey coming out it would be easy to put out the others alongside it on a store shelf, or on online retailers.

Quote from: XENOMORPHOSIS on Aug 27, 2023, 12:56:07 PMWonder if they'll do a box set of the previous 4 Predator movies to include this film Prey, for that matter a 7 movie boxset with the 2 Alien Vs Predator films.
That would be terrific. Honestly I'd be over the moon if they gave the previous Predator movies updated standalone 4K releases. And it would be nice if they went back and remastered, fixed, AVPR and put both the crossover movies on 4K.
Quote from: RidgeTop on Aug 27, 2023, 05:33:55 PMHope everybody got their Steelbooks if you wanted them, looks like that edition is sold out.
Maybe if the numbers look appealing enough they'll go back for a reprint later. BestBuy and Sony have both been doing that with Steelbooks.

Quote from: HuDaFuK on Aug 23, 2023, 02:56:30 PMDid T2's extended cut ever get a proper 4K release? The last Blu-ray I saw didn't restore the extended edition scenes to the same quality (or even colour grading) as the rest of the movie!

Can't speak for Terminator 2's release, I still haven't purchased it yet (not hot on the new colors that I've seen in the previews), but that did indeed happen with the added scenes in the misnamed "Director's Cut" of Alien on 4K.

    Where is that 4K Abyss??

The Abyss (and Titanic and True Lies) are all on that that "coming...eventually...maybe next year" list along with Aliens.

No idea about Alien 3 or Alien: Resurrection just yet.

According to Digital Bits, "True Lies" and "The Abyss" are still set for this year.
"Aliens" is being released next year.  They had a tweet recently that said he would have more news on that soon.

Possibly in response to the fact that streaming is financially untenable at this rate and they want to try to make as much out of their streaming-only products before it all crashes down.
Considering they've just announced physical releases of WandaVision and some other streaming exclusives, I think they might be realising that streaming isn't the be all and end all of home media.

You're welcome to find where I said the movie would never be released on physical media or that it would be unprofitable to do so. My post history is available like anyone else's.

QuoteAmazon is your friend to get a copy now I guess. The same probably applies to me.
At an overinflated price given the fall in the local currency. Maybe later, if they do a large enough run of discs.

Well nothing is perfect in life is it?  ;D

For me, the exchange rate is not so bad...for now.

sil do you think hulu just waited to ensure a financial return before releasing a phyical media? what do you think ? or was it just the outcry for a physical release ?  has prey been copied ilegally and spread illegally as has theatrical releases? has the hulu online only release reduced the illegal spreading? or is it a hard thing to find out?

    Never said that either.

You're tilting at windmills. Please stop.

Although for what it's worth, Disney has officially announced they're stopping physical media releases in my country. So I probably couldn't even get this anyway.

And if one is the same opening but with a different VO, I feel like the only substance is going to be the commentary and the fact it's physical media.

You are just bummed out that your prediction of no blu-ray turned out to be wrong. Weren't you so confident there will no blu-ray for Prey? Don't be a sore loser. Admit you were in error.

Let's refrain from the personal snipes, please.
