It is with sadness that I have to report that Weston Osche, the author behind the Alien novels Alien: Infiltrator and Aliens vs. Predators: Rift War, as well as the short stories Zero to Hero and May Blood Pave My Way Home, has passed away at age 58. Weston had been fighting a number of health issues over the last several years.
His wife and fellow Alien author Yvonne Navarro shared the news of Weston’s death on Facebook on the 18th of November.
Many of Weston’s contemporaries and fellow Alien authors have shared tributes to him on social media.
I know I have a weird way of grieving- not understandable to most – but I am grieving the loss of my friend @westonochse, & my heart hurts for @YvonneNavarro. Wes will be missed & remembered for the strong, funny, loyal, talented, generous, brave man that he was here & is There.

Weston Ochse’s last couple of years were a fight he didn’t back down from, just like every other fight he faced. I’m glad he’s free of pain now, and I’ll type some longer thoughts later. It was a helluva ride, brother. See you on the other side. Tell everyone I said hi. pic.twitter.com/4iZjWe5t8x

The thoughts of the Alien vs. Predator Galaxy staff and community go out to Weston’s family and friends. Rest in Peace, Weston.
I really liked Infiltrator!
Why? It's how I feel about his work. But it doesn't mean I disrespect his contribution or that I'm not sad that he passed away. And, like I also mentioned, his work is still important to me in some way.
The more his Aliens/Predator stories I read, be it novels or shorts, the more I felt that He isn't that good of a writer or just don't feel those particular franchises, but still it is a shame losing active contributor to our favourite series. And actually it was because of Him I've got myself to reading A/P novels, his Infiltrator was first Alien book I read and I'm hooked ever since. So thank You Weston, and again, may You rest in peace.
