Focus Entertainment and Tindalos Interactive have today released a brand new patch for the tactical shooter Aliens: Dark Descent. As promised after the game’s release, the new patch squashes quite a few bugs but offers some quality of life improvements. You can now skip the prologue on Pioneer Station if you’ve completed it once already.
Aliens: Dark Descent now autosaves when you exit the Otago so you won’t lose any important customizations you’ve done if you exit early. The Xenotech Panel has also been reworked.
The big feature is that you can now disable the Deathclock. The Deathclock begins early in the campaign and gives you a certain number of days to finish the game before the planet is bombarded. The length varies with the difficult setting. Now, you don’t need to worry about running out of time to get the campaign finished. I must admit I did cut it very close and only had a couple of days to spare when I finished the story.
You can view the full changelog over on Focus Entertainment. The patch is now live on PC, X-Box and Playstation consoles. It’s technically 1.04 on consoles and I know on Playstation 5, it weighed in at 5.6GB. I’m still hoping they’ll bring out a New Game Plus mode. I’m desperate to have a new playthrough again but I want to take all my upgraded Marines and weapons along with me.

Many new graphical glitches appeard with it as well.
But the devs are focusing on stuff like fonts and fixing the little light on the drone while some people cannot move APC or are stuck due to bugs and save system.
The priorities for this team are baffling to say the least.
But this is indeed a dream come true playing this game . Who would have thought that an rts of this kind would be the best Aliens experience so far (although FTE and AVP2010 were also pretty good imo) . Hope they support this game with additional stories , missions , modes whatever .
