Lanard Toys Taking On Predator & New Alien Figures Also On The Way!

When their first wave of Alien figured released earlier this year, I think it’d be fair to say that fandom was taken by the Kenner-esque charm of Lanard Toy’s Aliens figures. And it looks like they’re keen to keep going!

In November we got a look at Lanard’s next line of Alien figure which includes an albino Alien seemingly based on H.R Giger’s original (which I think is called the Drone), a very metallic blue Warrior based on Aliens and finally a bronze coloured Runner from Alien 3, complete with a Rottweiler accessory!

And today, via Walter McCloud on YouTube, Lanard have now revealed that they have also obtained the Predator license! Their first wave will feature three 7″ Predators including Jungle Hunter, City Hunter and Berserker Predator, as well as a 12″ Jungle Hunter!

We don’t currently have release dates for the Predator line, but the new Alien figures are currently slated to be out “after Christmas.” The Lanard figures are available exclusively through Walmart in the US, and through Smyths Toys in the UK. Thanks to Will Robbie for the news!

The bad part is that they're not 1:12 scale. If they were 1:12 scale they'd be 8-9" tall (like NECA). It says "7inch scale" but what they mean is "7 inches tall". So they'd be the same height as a NECA Dutch.

I think at one point I've had 4 different representations of the jungle hunter, I love seeing different Predator variations and prefer to buy different ones. Kinda bummed that the newest Neca Ultimate Scout Predator has the exact same jungle hunter helmet

I've been on a predator kick the last week or two after listening to y'all's podcasts and interviews with some of the predator actors, good stuff!

Thank you muchly!  ;D Glad you've been enjoying.

Jungle Hunter being mid-cloak is pretty sweet imho.

I don't know it feels kinda early for that kind of effect. It's only series 1.

I don't see it being an issue personally. I don't think there's a natural progression for companies to follow with these. They already have the 2 "normal" styles, I don't see an issue with including something different to stand out. Personally, that's going to be the one I end up buying.

Nice, I wish Walmart carried aliens and predators when I was a kid. The alien figures we're geared more towards children, I definitely got some from my fiance's boys, I really like how the Berserker and City Hunter looks so far, they aren't neca but those two can definitely go up on the wall. Questionable paint choices on Jungle and City Hunter. Berserker looks the best so far.

That's super cool! I never expected them to start doing Predators as well! :o And not just generic Predators but Jungle Hunter, City Hunter and Mr Black! That's a great line-up!

The line must indeed be doing pretty well for them to be branching out like this! And I can totally see why! They really do hit that sweet spot between "good toys for younger audiences" and "nostalgic collectibles for older fans".

Its so weird seeing this property at Wal-Mart in the regular toy aisle. They must at least have decent sales. The stock in my small town does rotate. I just wish they would get more eggs so we could do stocking stuffers lol.
