Aliens: Dark Descent Now Available For Pre-Order Alongside New Trailer!

The folk over at Focus Entertainment and Tindalos Interactive are getting on the Alien Day festivities! They’ve just announced that Aliens: Dark Descent is available for pre-order and to celebrate the occasion, a new trailer has been released!

The new trailer features a lot of new cinematic scenes we haven’t seen before, including some information about the game’s narrative and a much clearer look at Alien: Dark Descent’s mysterious Alien-esque humanoid enemy!

Alien: Dark Descent was recently shown off at PAX East and made a very good impression with the journalists who played it. The game is currently slated for release on the 20th of June and is now available for pre-order on Focus Entertainment’s website. Though none of the announcements have been highlighting it, early pre-order also comes with Lethe Recon Pack.

    On the topic of preordering since I'm way out of the gaming sphere and don't know how it goes these days.

    If I preorder a physical copy, does it give me all the preorder incentives? If I preorder in the US, where is the recommended place to order a physical copy that won't show up weeks after it's been out?

    They literally have embryos in their chest cavities that we can see. The whole idea behind it I can understand, staving the incubation indefinitely, but why they appear to be on the side of the Aliens better have a damn good explanation.

    I think I'd rather it not be being mutated by the chestburster, but it's also going to be risky having it be some sort of genetically engineered being because that's running so close to being played out. I'm curious, though! Definitely looking forward to seeing how it is handled.

    It's some kind of cyborg Alien host that has doohickeys and whatnots to keep the thing from bursting.

    Been using the same ideas for about 10 years in my RPG bullshit and it's about damn time someone who can afford the license did something with the concept.

    Well at least there was some actual game footage in this trailer. The last trailer only had one second of gameplay - a huge red flag for me. Won't be buying this, but will read other people's experiences with interest.

    PS: Alien Isolation 2 please! (Blackout did not count!!!)

    I am hoping it will come to switch. God forbid it be a cloud version. I'll never buy cloud games. You are right about the graphics. Reduce some settings and what not.

    Liking this more and more. Has a very old EU feel (with the Alien experimenting, mad scientist looking guy, dormant chestburster inseminated people etc.). WY commandos are ripped strait from the AvP The Hunt Begins tabletop board game. You can see their love for tabletop and the RPG. Love the Crusher design, and whatever the final Alien is in the trailer (maybe the Praetorian?).

    The working joe looks so creepy!

    Loving the look of the new enemies, just wish the glowy bits weren't blue, but whatever. But the infected look, and the ribbed arms are beautiful.

    Unsure of what I should be calling these incubator cyborgs of, but I absolutely love this, we need more bold stuff like this

    I really like the artstyle from the game, it's not going for 100% realism, but instead of a kind of high budget 3d movie style, and it works greatly

    That's a great catch! I'm really interested in that as a concept, actually. A lot of my fan stories I spin in my head revolve around things like this that let humans interact with the Aliens, so I'm really curious to see how it pans out. This aspect of the story was the thing I was most concerned with, but this angle I'm definitely interested in.

    And they're definitely evoking a tiny bit of Space Jockey/Engineer imagery with that breathing apparatus, even if there isn't any literal connection there.

    Good catch! Maybe they're part of some "obligatory secret project" to infect people with chestbursters but then keep them in a state of suspended animation so that the Aliens won't attack the hosts or consider them a threat?

    The guy's arms also look a bit "Alieny" too, which could perhaps be the result of having a chestburster inside him for a way longer amount of time than normal.
