Speaking of Avengers, did anyone else feel like the giant mechanical toothy whale thing that flies through the air in the Avengers remind them of Halo in some small way?

If anything it reminded me of Gears of War.

Fair enough. It moved exactly like that burrowing thing from Gears 2.

I am. Brilliant show. Check out Rooster Teeth on a regular basis. This was definatly one of the best things to come out of Halo.

Definitely am a fan, but I lost interest with the new series. As soon as they started rendering their own long segments out of their own CGI, it just lost some of the magic for me. I loved that it was entirely made inside Halo, and now that that's gone, it just doesn't work as well.

Yeah I kinda agree with you, it hasn't put me off the series completely, But I do love a lot of the other stuff Rooster Teeth does.

Their sketches are quite funny. Evocative of SNL during the golden years.
I do agree that the self rendered stuff is a bit of a cheat, but everything else is still quite good.
Plus the self rendered stuff began in season 5 with all of Caboose's cut deaths.

Yeah, but it wasn't excessive. It wasn't extended periods of Matrix-esque bullet-time bullshit.

I don't mind them rendering a few characters, like the Director and things like that, or just adding something very small (like a prone sniper or dozens of tanks and aircraft on a single map) but when it's entire extended action scenes, I feel it lost something.
