It was recently reported by World of Reel and Scifi & Fantasy Gazette (who credited the scoop to “insider” Daniel Richtman) that the working title for the upcoming FX Alien series is ‘Alien: Neverland’.
Though it’s possible things may have changed with the title recently, we think that there could have been some confusion over the working title of the Alien series with that of its first episode, which we previously revealed was titled ‘Neverland’ back in 2022.
Below, we can exclusively show an early logo for the series with the title Alien: Prodigy, and which also includes ‘Neverland’ as the episode title:
We can also show you a glimpse of the series original codename, Mr. October, which featured a clever use of the Weyland-Yutani logo’s W inverted:
The series’ premiere episode was also originally titled Mr. October until it was shifted down the line-up to become the second episode of the series, with a new episode titled Neverland written to open the series.
Although the upcoming film Alien: Romulus was a case of a working title becoming the actual title of the film, we are unable to corroborate the series being called Alien: Neverland. However, we also cannot rule out that the working title has changed. It is also worth noting that Richtman was also correct about Alien: Romulus’ title.

Excellent! It being upside down is likely because it's part of the crashed Maginot.
Semiotic standard symbol; specifically for non-pressurized area/no gravity/suit required.

Weyland-Yutani doesn't seem like it is going to be at the forefront of the series (though they are presumably responsible for the Alien samples reaching Earth, if the concept art we've seen is anything to go by). The Prodigy Corporation is the main company driving things this time around.
That seems to be an episode title or general premise, if anything. It is likely referring to the children before the experiments that move their minds into synthetic bodies are conducted.
That isn't being reported as the title of the series itself.
" The Pre Op Children " - seriously 😳
Is that a sarcastic joke ? And hopefully not on the end product.
Likewise although I still need to watch Legion.
I feel like Fargo definitely incorporated more horror elements in the last couple seasons.
Spoiler
Where I slightly worry is with the writing and that is simply because season 4 was pretty generic compared to first 3 seasons, and season 5 had a very poor payoff (ALL my opinion, I know others will disagree). But that is comparing the last two seasons to the first three which were arguably some of the best television ever made, especially the first 2. But there is a trend there in a decline in the quality. But even with that, all 5 seasons of Fargo have had very well-written characters with flaws, quirks and nuance.
So all in all, I'm fairly optimistic in the series. Hopefully Hawley having a multi-season plan for the series will ensure the plot stays tight and drives towards something interesting. It will be fun to watch regardless.

Hence the term "part".
Uh, those have been a part of Alien practically since day one, so I don't see how that's a valid criticism.
As I was reading this post I was starting to formulate a response with some speculation that the Alien's biomechanics are going to be key to the bridging of a human consciousness and a synthetic body, but as I kept going, I spied at least one much more significant red flag in the post than any of the ones you're citing.
See if it was it's own thing, I'd probably be a bit interested in that.
Kinda like how I think Vincent Ward's neo-medieval wooden planet fantasy version of Alien 3 would have gone.
Real shit.
Less so for me.
I have confidence that this will be well made and involve some interesting sci fi, but whether or not it bears any resemblance to what I want from an Alien product is kind of dubious.
Hawley has proven himself to me with Fargo and in part with Legion (which I still need to finish) so I'm pretty positive.
No idea! Wish we knew!
Isn't the series separate from the rest of the franchise? Like another continuity, a standalone project.
I wouldn't be surprised if the show runners come forward with some clarification. Having this amount of negativity surrounding the project this early based on the name alone doesn't bode well.
All I've heard is WETA is doing effects. They do both practical and digital. They did some practical stuff for Romulus along with Legacy.

I have strong doubts it will be, considering the intel that it's the name of the first episode, but god I hope it's not titled "Alien: Neverland"
On the note of the experiments on the children, I guess the "Pre-Op Children" goes hand in hand there. Kids that haven't yet been operated on, I'm assuming. Bet we don't see Chandler as Wendy until the tail end of the first episode, based on that info. Will probably spend a lot of initial time with her with a child playing the character before her consciousness is moved into the synth body that Chandler plays.
And as excited as i am for Alien: Romulus going back to the space horror vibe of the first movie, i'm also glad to see Noah Hawley try to do something more unique and ambitious.
I have trust in him after Fargo, so i'll just wait and see.
