The AvP comic took from those drafts, not AtMoM specifically, and so did the film because it was adapting the comic. Prometheus took from the drafts as well, remixing elements to come up with its plot. Neither AvP nor Prometheus had a direct intention to retell AtMoM. Just an indirect echo.
