Finally had a chance to listen to this! Well done as always gentlemen. I've got to say I really REALLY enjoyed Dane as the predator. After this interview my enjoyment of his interpretation of the Feral Predator has only grown. I love how he discussed one of my favorite scenes and in particular when feral is shot and his reaction to this. It felt so real! Awesome Job!! Really he's right up there with Kevin and Ian in my book.

Also his reverence and respect for the predator creature and what it represents to the community speak volumes! I have a ton of respect for what he's done for the franchise. They need to cast him again for all of the other predator movies. You're hired Dane.

Yeah back in the day one of the promo images I saw of Mario Paint when it was coming out was of a Predator face someone had drawn with it, and I wonder if that's what hyped Dane up enough to get it too?

Awesome interview!  ;D  ;D  ;D  I was so looking forward to this one! ... well I'm excited for all the upcoming Prey interviews really. Dane seems like a dope dude who is just happy to be here (as a really cool monster). I love that!
    *extra cheek smooches for all

    ...

Glad to hear Aaron also does not like the whole 'yautja' thing. You have redeemed yourself after saying you weren't the biggest fan of Feral's face.  ;)

I'm about halfway through the video so far and this has definitely been a great one. Dane seems like a really nice guy and someone's who's clearly passionate about the role. Very cool that he managed to nab so many sweet souvenirs from the shoot too! And indeed, confirmation that he was reading the boards, as we suspected! :D

I just had to stop and post quickly to ask if it'd make Hicks hate The Predator even more if I said that technically "Yautja" is actually spoken on screen for the first time by the Upgrade Predator just before he fights Fugitive? ;)

EDIT: Just finished it, that was indeed a great interview!

And thanks for asking one of my questions! I love that it led to that bit of Mr Bean trivia too, I used to watch the hell out of Mr Bean growing up, so that was very cool and unexpected to hear, but makes total sense!

And yep, I'd definitely be down for Dane returning in a new movie. Fingers crossed they both end up happening!

I have my doubts that we'll ever see a definite "bad blood" in the films, maybe one day. Dane was probably just saying this predator is a bit of an impatient jerk. Feral comes off to me as wanting the immediate satisfaction and result.

Predators 2010 was the perfect opportunity to show bad bloods, and whether that was their intention or not they kind of botched the presentation. As much as I enjoy their look and design, the trio in that film were just kind of presented as "bigger, badder...but also not really."

Great interview. I really love his enthusiasm for the franchise and towards the fandom.
It was cute seeing him go around the room grabbing all the goodies he obtained from working on the set.

Quote from: (Bad Blood) on Sep 15, 2022, 06:13:35 AMI loved this review! Whoa did Dane just hint this Predator was a Bad Blood?

    What makes you say that?

Well specifically when he mentioned that "Naru was trying to break his weapons to level the field as he wasn't fighting fair, he then said because that's the kind of predator he is, but I won't get into that, that's another thing entirely" not a direct quote but similar to what he said. Bad bloods don't fight even, or fair, so I thought he might have been hinting.
Other things hint at it in the film. He brutally kills without trying to subdue the opponents as quick and clean and painless as possible like other predators. Kills unarmed individuals and cheats. Like when fighting Tabe, instead of fighting honorably he literally cloaks and sneaks away mid fight just because he's losing. Tabe even yells "cheater!" And lastly uses long range weapons on enemies without them. In most predator lore that would be considered bad blood traits.
