Not too interested in the visual guide, it seems like the encyclopedia that I never ended up getting.

The art book looks cool, though.  Hopefully it doesn't cost too much.

I'm actually surprised that of all people, you haven't got the encyclopedia.

I highly recommend it, it's awesome and has lots of pretty new art and food for thought. This Visual Guide though... I'm uncertain on it. It just seems like an update of the encyclopedia now that Reach and ODST (extensively this time, at least) are out, so I'm going to need to be sold that it's more than that.

Ehhh, come on Microsoft...

I'm fine with a Halo 4, but please don't think that Master Chief is the only character we care about...

Figured I would post about it on Waypoint, just to see if the "main fanbase" agrees.

Well this argument was...different. Some people just refuse to even listen to the other side :D

Get outta' here with all of that garbage. ;)

Yes, the possibilities for the Halo universe endless and I would love to explore them...in books.  When I'm playing my games, not so much.  While playing as the Rookie, Noble 6, heck, even the Arbiter, all I wanted to do was be the Chief. Guilty pleasure.

I tried to piece the story together in my head from what I remembered.
Noble team and all of the troops were under Winter Contingency so that to the troops off of Reach the battle was only one day.
As said in the Journal, Halsey was at Sword base and began looking at classified files; thus learning of the Spartan III's and after learning more about them she learned they were a new series of Spartan and that Jorge was with them.
Then all the way to The package Halsey was keeping tabs on them (marking dead Spartans as MIA on her screen)
Now at this point it sort of blends into the books; Noble team heads off with the Cortana half and the Pillar of Autumn lands to recieve it. Cortana thus didn't know about the battle until they were in orbit and she was sort of too busy to mention it at that point. Also she must have understood she wasn't allowed to talk about it anyways.
As this was happening Jun escorted Halsey to Castle base. Once they arrived there a note I saw in the re-release of Fall of Reach confirms that Jun basically let the elites kill him so that Halsey could get away. she then retreated deeper into the base and as Castle base fell the Spartan IIs arrived and she ripped out the two pages in her Journal.
Halsey then eventually ended up on Onyx

That sort of works, generally, right?

I got the Encyclopedia for Christmas. Absolutely love it. Think I might ask for this art book this birthday.

Damn straight. Chief tellin' it like it is. Ooh rah.

And whilst they're at it give us a gun that works. Seriously I'd take the BR spread issues over whatever the hell the DMR is any day. I literally never know if I'm gonna win a fight in Reach, shooting that weapon at somebody is like playing the lottery.
