This is from Guillermo Del Toro. He never directed a bad film expect for Mimic which he admits sucks.

This. To add, some of the films he has co-produced (not directed), proved to be pretty good as well. The guy is synonymous with quality film making. I hope Universal will kick themselves in the face when they see this, after cancelling Del Toro's At The Mountains Of Madness project.

God, I want him to make that film and if Pacific Rim gets him to do that indirectly, I'm all for it. :)

Despite all the studio interference, I do think Mimic is one of the better 90s creature features... del Toro's imprint is still dominant.

You could sense del Toro all over Mimic, sure.

But it still sucked.

But I do agree: del Toro > Michael Bay all day any day.

Y'know what else got good buzz from early screenings?
Green Lantern.

Green Lantern deserved it though.

Somebody mentioned Green Lantern in a positive light. I can not let this stand.

I really haven't been following this film much but what about this is so great?

If I want my giant monster fix I have the Godzilla franchise (HUGE fan)

If I want my giant robot fix then I have Transformers (semi-fan)

So what about this film is so different from those 2 franchises?

Green Lantern is hideously underrated. I think because Thor came out around the same time, and Thor was a better movie overall. But Green Lantern wasn't too far behind it.

It combines both of those fixes.

It combines two great things, into an amazing thing.

Giant Robots vs Giant Monsters.

I fail to see what more a Godzilla fan would want.

Unless you're being a "HUGE" fan of Godzilla IS A BLATANT LIE.

Spoiler

Elba would make Bay crawl back into the hole he came from, that's what ;)

It's probably more so I dont want this to take any of the hype away from the new American Godzilla film

It comes out an entire year before Godzilla.

I can't think of any possible way this would affect Godzilla's hype next year.

At all.

Firstly, Tremors < Green Lantern.
Secondly,  the Green Lantern trailer was one of the best trailers, if not the best, of all the superhero movies.
