Well it helps MGS that they have arguably the greatest mechanical designer of our generation. It's not like Yoji Shinkawas are a dime a dozen, you know?
"Pacific Rim" does feature some input from legends like Oscar Chichoni, though.
Anyway, I dig the poster - but here are some more reactions from the screening that are far more objective than the hyperbolic nonsense that the GL fan was babbling:

I'm not saying this movie isn't going to be good or anything, but remember when people were proclaiming this would be a gamechanger of sorts? Yeah, not happening. At best, it's standard blockbuster fluff. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but considering we have enough of that already, I'm disappointed that Guillermo didn't try to make this something more meaningful.
