Almost as if in celebration of the future anniversary of the Alien’s birth aboard the Nostromo in 98 years, on June 4th 2122, 20th Century Studios has dropped the much anticipated full trailer for Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus!
“Alien: Romulus” takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. The film stars Cailee Spaeny (“Civil War”), David Jonsson (“Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow and Bone”), Isabela Merced (“The Last of Us”), Spike Fearn (“Aftersun”), Aileen Wu. Fede Alvarez (“Evil Dead,” “Don’t Breathe”) directs from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (“Don’t Breathe 2”) based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett. “Alien: Romulus” is produced by Ridley Scott (“Napoleon”), who directed the original “Alien” and produced and directed the series’ entries “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant,” Michael Pruss (“Boston Strangler”), and Walter Hill (“Alien”), with Fede Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon (“Charlie’s Angels”), Brent O’Connor (“Bullet Train”), and Tom Moran (“Unstoppable”) serving as executive producers.

[Update] The version of the trailer uploaded to the 20th Century Studios Malaysia YouTube Channel features a slightly different opening, showing off a brief new shot of the Alien.
The place where they are looks a bit windy, let's say that.
Is there a reason the Alien isn't closer to Rain in the final clip from the trailer?
It looks like there's something else going on there.
If you can't say anything, I understand.
There are about 2, maybe 3 quick shots in the trailer that are from the climax.
The artwork is AI generated and not a good representation of what's seen in the film by the way.
It is Rain, it's just none of the shots in the trailer are of the film's finale.
I've been a bit hasty for that conclusion, thanks for the correction.
idk it's like barely a reference to that Alien3 shot. Not even framed the same and is clearly two different circumstances to the scene itself. Didn't find it obnoxious in the least. Are we gonna cry "Alien3 memberberries" every time a Alien gets near someone's face and snarls? You know, as something they tend to do?
I'm truly not trying to be antagonistic, and I'm sorry if I'm coming across that way. I'm just getting annoyed that any little similarity is being nitpicked as "ugh, f***ckin memberberries" and people are using it to write off the film entirely despite all the new and good looking things about it.
the little claw arm at 1:43. Could that be the small arm on the chest wall of a queen. You can see a large tail in the background at 1:43 also. Please comment

The final shot of the trailer with Rain and the Alien looks like the shot from Alien 3 but more importantly it looks like the Alien is resisting the vacuum of space. The Alien is going to get pulled out of an airlock while rain holds on for dear life. Obvious Aliens reference. Only this time I hope it isn't the climax. The movie looks great, but 'memberberries' is the right word for it.
Ah ok, thank you, I will have a dig around. I have to say that is a relief that they its not going to be Covenant life-cycle.

I mentioned it a page or two before this post you've responded to. It likely got lost in the many pages of this thread and easy to miss. You can refer to my post history to see what I've said.
I think the name "Jackson" originally came from that VScooper guy on Twitter. If it was him, I'd be inclined to believe it, as he's proven recently that he's had real info he was drawing from.
Not that I don't sympathize with some concerns, but a lot of what we've seen just seems like simple visual parallels and callbacks rather than some Star Wars level obnoxious 1 to 1 reference being thrown in our face.
Hicks said it pretty well here:
The only thing that's come off to me as a tad on the nose is that still recreating the shot of Ripley and Hicks with the rifle. Everything else just seems like pretty tastefully incorporated hallmarks that feel natural to the series and world of Alien. But will have to see how it's done in the full film ofc.
It is Wu's character that is being cradled and judginh by the blood splattered on Merced's face and clothes, Wu's character is dead and the chestburster either free or maybe killed (we have to and see on that)
Unfortunately I wouldn't put it past them to make the life-cycle fast like in covenant which is just stupid.
The first few movies at least made it seem like it was hours, if not a day or more. Still pushing plausibilty but it is atleast far more better than it growing in seconds.
Finding a way to have a realistic amount of time pass between a chestburster emerging and it becoming a full grown adult is always one of the challenges for an Alien movie (likewise the time between impregnation and chestbursting), but I certainly hope that isn't the case.
Fingers crossed that the rumored Ridley Scott series is A.) Real, and B.) This!
In the meantime, though, I am all aboard the Romulus hype train.

Everything sounds like ALIEN - R but with the ALIEN & ALIENS aesthetics and a better creature design.
Links, for sure. We can see what looks to be one of them at 0:35 in the trailer. But what I meant was, a direct followup to those story threads with Ridley at the helm, and following David et al.
Apparently there's gonna be links to Covenant, so yay. I hope they're substantial.
Nothing wrong with "I know what you did last summer," vibes.
I remember going to cinema to see that film like it was yesterday. Good times.
In Romulus, these people grew up together and are all friends with brother/sister duos. The stakes within this group dynamic are very high.
I ate up Rapace's and Waterston's performances, too
When was the last film you enjoyed?
Nothing girly about it. That was aaaalll 100% lived-woman.
Indeed looks good, but so did Noomi Rapace and Katherine Waterston in their respective trailers...
