"how" you say? if someone got shot, they bleed and if they get stabbed with say..wrists blades and it went right through, then there will be more blood, most of the blades would be covered in it..

There is blood on the wristblades.
And they got pulled out rather quickly - so not too much blood makes sense.

It wasn't that fast and the blood is still not much for a quick strike and its not just blood on weapons either, blood would near enough gush out at those deep wounds. we never see much that is true but we do see enough to know that the blood is lacking. In all aliens films and to different degrees, chestbursters birth causes blood to gush and splash everywhere and when it came to adele, all she had was a small red patch on her shirt. avp-r attempted to appease fans and other people by bringing it back to an 18 and that didn't save it so i am agreeing with you that blood doesn't make a good film but for situations were blood would flow a lot, there is less than what would really happen.

so its not the lack of blood in of itself, it is the lack of blood in bloody situations that the problem, though its the films other problems that is the worst.

A red patch that was practically the same size as of the one Kane got - after the first 'try' that is. Then there's the actual chestbursting, which is shown quickly and in the dark. You do see blood on the chestburster though.

That burster in AvP was fakest most rubbery looking thing.  Until that one on the kid in AvP:Poo - which I think was CG.  Ugh...

yes it most likely was cgi but it could been a bit of both as some films mix cgi with practical effects, anyway AVP-R is a big pile of donkey turd. Shame it was only nominated for two razzies and didn't even get them.

I enjoy Alien 3 possibly because it trys to go back to the root of what the first alien is psychological horror. Too bad is went through hell being made, we may actully have gotten something better
