If that ain't giant for ya..The adul deacon and Neomorph should be just as big as the classic alien. eight to nine foot+

Quote from: Ingwar on Apr 03, 2017, 02:07:25 PMIt's 2017. Forget that 100 + million R-rated blockbuster will fully base on practical effects. Don't be naive and romantic. Neomorph head scene is taken out of the context. We need to wait and see for the whole sequence. And believe me, if it was practical a lot of people would have complained why it hasn't been done as CGI. Some scenes simply cannot be done in old-school way. You cannot satisfy everyone.

But we know from the recently published articles from last years set visits that it's a combination of everything - cgi, lots of practical effects, actors eg the French (?) guy who did the creature in REC and others, so it's not a case of practical being a romantic irrelevance. It's still used, and Ridley appears to be using all the techniques. I don't deny the neomorph is CGI, but the Big Chap closeups will be practical I'm sure. Of couse wider shots won't be, they will be CGI or a mix with the motion actor I mentioned.
