Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance [2012]

I just sat through 1 hour and 47 minutes of bullshit. I mean, what the f**k -- it doesn't even tie into the original movie! And that ending, that f**king ending?! Where Johnny says that the Rider was an angel that went crazy, and his flames are blue now! Oh god, and the part where he's driving off at the end and he's like "I am the Ghost Rider.", my friend and I were like "This is the gayest ending I've ever experienced!"

The Five Year Engagement

This had to be the single most depressing thing I've ever seen, how dare he make Emily Blunt cry! >:(

Incubus – 5/10
I thought Robert Englund being a sex crazed demon (An incubus is the male version of a Succbus for those who don't know) would lead to an insane amount of crazy and funny.  I was filled with disappointment when this never happened.

Boo – 7/10
I remember seeing this on Sci Fi a long time ago and thinking it was pretty cool.  I still somewhat like it but I guess the amount of horror "whimsy" was just something in my head at the time.

Conan the Barbarian (1982)

With the recent Legend of Conan announcement, I decided to revisit this. It's still an awesome movie, with a downright fantastic score embedded in it.

It's a good film but bloody depressing for about 3/4.

Cloud Atlas

Oh Jesus. Where do I begin? Usually, I like to start these things off by recapping the plot, but how the hell do I recap six different, yet interconnected stories, spanning across lives and ages? How do I capture the sheer epic and personal scale of it all in a few measly sentences? I can't, so I won't try. I just... love this movie. So, so much. It was brilliant and beautiful and perfect and I want to see it again and again. Coming in just short of three hours, I still wanted it to be longer, I still wanted more. I really hope there's an extended edition somewhere on the horizon.

Just saw The Man With the Iron Fist.

Wanted to like it so badly (huge Wu Tang/ Kung Fan) but I found myself hoping it would end, and contemplating walking out of the theatre a bunch of times. Rza shoulda stayed behind the camera, his acting was a joke. I would've enjoyed it as merely a download.

Dog Soldiers - 8/10 - Now that's how you do low-budget horror with some really good character development. Sean Pertwee is especially great in this. And Spoon was f**king awesome!

Damn, Marines - can't wait to see Cloud Atlas for myself. I'm looking more forward to this than The Hobbit right now.

Halloween (1978) - 9/10

The Terminator - 9/10

Both just outstanding classics. Carpenter & Cameron gets everything right in these shoestring budget thrillers. Make sure to re-watch them with friends.

The Possesion - 6/10

Latest from director Ole Bornedal, produced by Sam Raimi. This small budget horror film starts of really well, plenty of mood and good use of cinematography, compelling performances. To me though, the last 1/3 disappoints with a standard plot development for this sub-genre, dealing with possessions, exorcisms and scary kids. I've seen it all before and executed better. Tacked-on ending. It has some genuinely scary moments though, so it gets an above average grade.

Next is The Woman, Halloween II and what else we can agree on. And I've borrowed Terminator 3 on dvd from my bf. I might need extraction later on... :D

Gonna watch Halloween and Halloween II myself tomorrow. I have only seen the second movie once.
