But will he get Muldoon's rocket launcher from the book?

Love how Pratt is in a serious role here, not the comic relief or goof he's known for. He looks like he could pull it off.

I couldn't help but sn***er at him being "serious".

Not that I mind, but I wonder if there is a reason for his serious demeanor throughout, plot wise.

I've been watching it all day to be honest.
Now I'm just waiting the moment Jeremy Jahns upload his "trailer review" saying "looks awesome" every 5 seconds, as well as "I like Chris Pratt!".

I know his character description said he was ''rugged, ex-military man.''.

Who's to say he isn't going to be comedic at some points? We only saw a few sequences with him...

And he was driving a motorcycle with raptors. :D

well that's true, but still, from what his facial expressions the way he delivered his lines, I wouldn't mind the seriousness throughout the movie.

but hey Jake Johnson is in this movie and he'll get the comedic lines just you watch

How odd.  f**k the Polish, but the n-word gets censored, even when it's not really the n-word.

He's playing the Sam Neill role (or Jeff Goldblum from Lost World).  Except he has a gun.  Hope all the cliches have been spent in the trailer, 'cos a whole film of him like that spells comedy gold.

Film itself looks about what I was expecting; not Crichton-tier but could be good fun.

Most of the ideas presented in the new film are from Crichton himself. ::)

...Ideas which are already intrinsic to the franchise. It's not grounded in science, it doesn't look particularly deep or technical, and it doesn't seem to have anything particularly fresh or insightful to say. Can't say for sure until the film comes out, but that's how it looks for now - another fun action romp with increasingly less realistic Mesozoic recreations.

I love the park setting. It looks like the early 70's science fiction concept art of Disney's Epcot Center.
I love the Allan Malcom Muldoon. He's a dinosaur lover, a rock star, and a big game specialist rolled into one.
I love Ron Howards Daughter with all my heart.
Kid from Iron Man 3 has rad hair.
I love Godzilla's auto tuned roar every time they fade to black after saying something epic.

Looks absolutely fun as hell. I'm there.

Just for reference:

Mosasaur screencap
[close]

How long would you say those jaws look? I'd say just over 5 metres (~17 feet), using the handler on the platform (who may be slightly further away) for scale.

The biggest known mosasaur skulls had jaw lengths of 1.5 metres, making this chappy on a whole other level of magnitude.

Again, camera-angles dude. There were times in the original JP when the Rex head looked like it was nine feet long.

I would complain about the CG looking unfinished, but people said that about the second Godzilla trailer (when he emerges from the water) but of course that was fixed for the film.

Sure, nine feet, but not sixteen.....

My point is that it may very well just the way the camera is positioned. Besides, for all I know, larger mosasaurids like Hainosaurus might've had a larger skull than T.Rex.

The Great White also makes it likely that this is an oversized Mosasaur.
