Even smaller than that I'd say...not much bigger than a poodle. Plus, they were completely covered in feathers and the toe-claws of Velociraptor in particular weren't sharp enough to actually slash through its prey.

Nerdy kid mode: The ones in the film were exagerated a bit in size... they are essentially Deinonychus. (Why they didnt use Deinonychus as a name for the dinos instead of the less accurate velociraptor, i'll never know)

They also had hollow bones, so that contributes a bit to the lesser weight.
