The only effect that looks a bit dated to me is the brachiosaurus.

When it sneezes it's a pretty dodgy shot.

Some of the Gallimimus you can see are digital too.

It is no biggie though. Every movie with practical or digital effects has its black sheep of shots. I have yet to see one devoid of those.

I don't think JPark's C.G.I holds up because it looks 100% real, I think it's because the texture and movement of the animation feels natural to the eyes. They look like they're there on set even if they don't look totally real.

Does that make any sense to anyone else?

Yes.

Well, they did use what was virtually the best way to animate them. They had small scale articulated models you could move around; their movement would be transferred to the CGI model.

They had Phil Tippett on board, who already had some experience in how bipedal and quadrupedal creatures moved.

It was a blend of C.G.I and stop motion and the results were outstanding! I wonder if any other movies used this technique?

Starship Troopers and Species are the ones that come in mind at the moment. First one with brilliant results, second with the pure opposite -- but I think that's more to do with rendering itself.

Sweet. I have some of that stuff, actually. Though not in the packages, and a couple of them have different paintjobs.

They need to lock on a director and start casting already if they want JP4 to be released in June next year.
