Yeah. That whole attack at the start of the film? Wasn't scripted.

What does that title mean, exactly? In literal terms. Was he supposed to oversee their design? Because if that's the case, yeah, he failed miserably.

The Dinosaurs were mostly designed by Crash McCreery with color schemes by John Rosengrant, all under direction from Stan Winston and most importantly Steven Spielberg.

I have no clue of how much influence Phil Tippett had on the designs, but he supervised their movement and animation. He was in charge of the go-motion before CGI took over.

It's a source of Digital Copy that streams through your iCloud. It's really stupid.

Still the benchmark in CGI - 20 years later.

IMO, Dinosaurs haven't looked as good since.

Oh I don't know. Walking With Dinosaurs looked pretty spiffy.

'Come on little one, push!'

The animatronics in that scene are still incredible to this day.

Yep. :-*

The effects work in the T-Rex attack still hold up incredible well to this day, despite being made 20 years ago. It's the one film Cameron wished he'd made, although he's very happy with Spielbergs effort.

Honestly, I don't think as much of Jurassic Park's CGI holds up as much as a lot of people believe.

The exceptions being the scenes with the Rex, to me. It's scenes are just brilliant.

The scene where it hunts those Gallimimus will forever be my favorite scene in any dinosaur movie ever.

Agreed. What gets me every time is when it's out of the egg and being held in Grant's hands. Moving head, moving mouth, moving arms, moving tail, and no obvious sign of where any animatronic control might be coming from... uncanny valley bridged with a vengeance.

It was probably a real dino. :)

The parts where the CGI isn't quite holding up, are generally in bright outdoor scenes. They hadn't quite perfected skin texture and how stark light reflects on living objects, dynamic shadows etc yet. That's probably why the T-Rex scene stands out.
