And they're still filming :) How many blocks they're gonna do?

My guess is 5 blocks. Block 1 consisted of two episodes and there are ten episodes in the first season.

I wonder who's directing now? Don't see anything on IMDb yet apart from Scott who directed the first two episodes.

Some very lovely bts shots from Derek Ueckermann (click on arrow to scroll through images)
Looks like they are now shooting inside a forest.

Quote from: Amanda CollinWe can all help a little and if film sets were like this all over the world, it would make a difference. On this set we have "green wolf" competitions, meat free days and environmental education. Knowledge is power! Proud to be in this wolf pack #raisedbywolfes #greenset #letssavetogether

Ingwar, I think you would approve: :)

Ingwar approves ;D

Derek Ueckermann? Ridley hasn't worked with anyone else but Wolski since Prometheus. Because Scott directed only 2 episodes it makes perfect sense. Otherwise Wolski would have to work till the end. Changing cinematographers during production isn't common practice. Is it?

Derek Ueckermann was just the guy who took the photographs. Not exactly sure what he's doing on this but he works in the camera department. The DoP for RBW Block 2 is actually Ross Emery (Scott's second unit DoP on Alien: Covenant). I'm assuming that Wolski worked with Scott on Block 1 but I can't actually confirm it as yet. Scott would probably want Wolski on Merlin a little later this year, so I guess he didn't want him tied-up with this very lengthy production.

Changing cinematographers during production on feature films certainly isn't common practice, and when it happens it's usually not a good thing. Happened on Aliens and Alien 3. But in this case it's probably different since there is also a change of director (and I think several of the prime crew members).

Ingwar

Thanks for update 8th. Ross Emery? Cannot find anything about him regarding Wolves. What's your source? :) He was second DOP on Covenant.

Saw it on "The SA Film Academy" facebook page a couple of months back. I also posted it earlier in this thread:

The photo was taken while they were still busy filming Block 1 but the fact that they specifically say "Block 2 DOP" seems to suggest that someone else was DoP on Block 1. And I'm pretty certain it would have been Wolski.

Ingwar

Ahh yes, I remember know. I wonder if we're gonna notice any significant difference between different DOPs.

Maybe we'll see a bit of a difference with the various directors and DoP's. They'll probably want to put their own individual stamp on it. They've got pretty big shoes to fill following on Scott and Wolski though.  :)

And finally our first look at some extras in costume. Apparently these are child soldiers so it's most likely for a flashback scene to a war ravaged Earth. Those "fallout vibes" again.

A short (obviously unauthorized) video clip of snow on set. Perhaps also for a Earth flashback scene?

These costumes are medieval-alike. I like that approach. I honestly cannot wait to see a trailer ... I mean TV trailer :)

Indeed...

What fascinates me about Scott's sci-fi films is his juxtapositioning of advanced high-tech and primitive elements. In Blade Runner for example you had coolie-hat-wearing Asian peasants on bicycles trundling past futuristic-flying-police-cars while in Alien: Covenant you had the contrast between ancient engineer architecture/civilization set against the Engineer and human high-tech ships.

When I first saw the photo I had to do a double take because I thought they were wearing chainmail.

They're creating a 3D model and texture map of the actor for effects.
