They do. Lots of health problems from all that selective breeding too.

I'd assume respiratory/heart/joint problems just judging by how they look.  Though honestly it seems like all dogs have those problems these days, even mixed breeds.  Even my cat has kidney problems and we have to give him stuff for that

Since mine hasn't suffered any health problems, I don't consider myself a cruel person. Although I will keep it in mind in the future.

Never have been into small dogs or odd dogs.

I first grew up with a Kesshond (KAYSS-hond), then later in life had "the trio" in order of Labrador Retriever/German Shepard (Mum), Golden Retriever (Dad/my legit best friend) then the daughter.

The last of the trio passed years ago (the Dad) and now our newest member in our family is a Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler going on 3 soon and she's a sweetheart.

I prefer mongrels myself, Jack Russells and such.

A jack russell mauled my ankle which gave me the bacterial arthritis that plagues me to this day.

I have not had a good time with dogs in life, tbh. Most of them seem to inherently dislike me, and it takes a long while for the ones which ever do, to get used to me. I must move or smell off to them or something.
