Survivability is one of the core principles of 12b, so I've had to do my share of bunker fortification.  Usually followed by a nice roll of single (not bad) or triple strand (terrible) c wire.

In today's reality you'd be doing that in full kit, otherwise some f**ker might take a shot at you noticing you without it on.

Thankfully I was in a sapper unit though, and I didn't have to do it all the time.  Instead we would just get attached to a maneuver unit and blow up obstacles in their way and then act as direct support for them when they moved to the objective.  Which is nice, because that is absolutely miserable work when its a 115 degrees outside and you are in full kit.

Especially when in the field no CO actually uses the work/rest cycle.  You just go until the job is done and move onto the next one.  If somebody has heat exhaustion, well too bad for them.

Where do you stand on the A-10 controversy?  The Air Force seems to want it gone, but the Army seems to appreciate the close air support that only it can deliver.

Air Force wants the F-35 to take over the role but as with anything you have two proven platforms that have done it for the last 18 years (USAF A10-and US Army Apache), so naturally there is resistance to the idea of something unproven and nobody wants to be that guy that is pinned down the first time when the f-35 is providing CAS.

Anything that works, but I can understand how the troops on the ground in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria don't want to be the experiments that help validate the F-35 in CAS.  Especially with its own regular flight problems where it was knocking out its pilots because the pilot weren't getting enough air in its history.

When you are relying on something to save your life everybody is going to take the known known.

"I'm the Big Toe, see?"

That's was some crazy tv show.

"Where's me mallet!"

Love that show to death.

Only "classic Cartoon Network" show (aside from Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes) that I have vivid memories of.

Dexter's Lab, Courage, Ed Edd and Eddy, Cow and Chicken, I am Weasel, Johnny Bravo...sigh. Best lineup they ever had.

I didn't watch PPG, but I respect Fuzzy Lumpkins.
