Alien: Romulus has officially been rated R in the United States. I don’t think this will be much of a surprise to anybody who saw the recent trailer, but Alien: Romulus has been rated R like all the previous Alien films. The film has been rated R for ‘bloody violent content and language’. The news comes from a ratings document on filmratings.com which also revealed the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine has also been rated R.

Rain played by Cailee Spaeny
There’s no news on what the rating will be for the UK but I would bet it will be a 15 certificate here like the recent Alien and Predator films. Thanks to Joblo.com for the news.
Stay tuned as we’ll be posting our full analysis discussion of the new Alien: Romulus trailer and going through the trailer frame by frame.

How about "interesting"?
I don't know if I'd use bold to describe what you just typed.
I'm going to be bold here and state that I actually like the David-as-creator angle.
Of course, going that route now would mean invalidating the carefully-crafted expanded continuity that's been around for a while now.
While I do want the prequels retconned out of existence, I do want Ridley to at least get to finish his trilogy.
I think people would feel better about it if we'd had that third prequel and the story had been brought to a conclusion instead of simply flopping around unfinished.
Hopefully, though, that is where Romulus comes in!
I'll give you AVP:R and The Predator, but as for Covenant...

Is there really people saying this film will suck? All my friends after the new trailer are absolutely pumped for the release and they aren't even Alien fans. Early on the skepticism from them was here we go another alien film the last few have sucked but Prometheus was cool, and after the last trailer they are sold and really want to see it.
Reading comments on YouTube this seems to be the consensus as well
...wat.
Arguably worse
Why does the Aliens left shoulder area not have the iconic 8.5 inch black metallic piping! This movie is gona blow!
Also so many comments about the "kid" cast. I mean the lead only being 2 and a half years younger than Weaver in Alien.
Yeah us English "British" are shit at everything else but when it comes to an R rated movie we call it 15 or over because I like to say we a desensitised.
Also I'm honeslty not getting political!
Oh right! I hadn't really noticed that. To be honest I never look at ratings any more.
They're far more likely to be 15's than 18's. Theres very few 18's released these days
I accept that challenge, everyone tie him down and fetch the two tonne barral of booze!
Time to warm up the basement.
Honestly don't think I've been more excited for a film since Prometheus, but i think this one will hit the spot that people have been missing for 40 years and bring the franchise back.
But it is atleast something, we know its going to be violent and not shy away from it just to reach a wider audience.
