"The Concert"  * * * 1/2

If you enjoy classical music at all. I recommend seeing this.

Lots of humor with the members of a past orchestra. Whose present lives are so opposite of what they once were.

Friday the 13th The Last Chapter.

I've seen these films countless times.
I prefer 1-4.
The rest went in a direction that I didn't like anymore. I noticed yesterday that the film had some very strange editing.

However, the last time I watched these films was about 7 years ago.
Now I look at them again in the same order as I first saw them.

At the time, strangely enough, I actually watched them counting backwards from 4 to 1 because they weren't always available in the video store.

The Shape Of Things To Come - Truly, truly dire Star Wars cash-in that bore no resemblance to the HG Wells book from which is takes its name.

The local Alamo Drafthouse is showing all the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies on archival 35mm, one every Tuesday, for the series' 40th anniversary.

I got tickets to all of them (minus the remake we don't talk about).
Watched the original in theaters, but unfortunately had to miss out on Part 2 because I was sick in bed. But I went to see Part 3 (Dream Warriors) this past Tuesday and loved it! Still my favorite and the last that I can confidently say I've seen in full. Everything after I've only seen in bits and pieces, so it'll be cool to experience them for basically the first time in a theater full of fans.

The Flash - Not great, but not Snyder.

Some of the VFX were Lawnmower Man level. Who approved that...

Full Moon - Part 2.
I like pretty much most of Zack's work but this was just a snore fest. Like I think even Zack was going through the motions on this one. I actually liked the first one but this just felt like it went nowhere.

Dune ~ Part Two

While the brutalist aesthetic and minimalism might be somewhat repetitive in Villeneuve's films (even the alien spaceships in Arrival👀👍), here it is so beautiful and it works. Nice worldbuilding. It's Denis Villeneuve's Empire Strike Back.

8)🤘

George Lucas & Zack Snyder, take note...this is how a space opera is made!

Forgot how good Weta's CGI is in this film. Wanna rewatch the other 2 before I see Kingdom.

How does it compare as far as the practical VFX/stunts of Fury Road? I too had fears of an overuse of CGI from the trailer but is that warranted? That said CGI doesn't necessarily ruin a film. Curious for your take on it.
