Got me thinking tonight how the life / strucrure of how the Alins came about...

I like to think the combination of how bee's / wasp work..

Bee's have hives / queens and woker drones and produce  sticky substance.
Wasp's are aggressive and are known in nature to inpregnate other creatures with their eggs using them as a host / Incubator for the offspring to grow.

Just cant place were the face huggers come in.

There are aspects that are drawn from insects, but ultimately they are Aliens.

They share reproductive methods with some insects because it is a legitimate process that would be expected to evolve independently in multiple species.

I've watched Aliens again yesterday and if you take a look at the Hive, xenomorph's are more like a mix of wasps, termites, and Bee's.

Xenomorphs create some type of wax like slime they cover their hosts with.
