kinda bummed the face doesn't look more "other worldly". looks like tom cruise.
Yeah this bothered me too, I mean a statue of that size must have some significance. Bearing in mind we've now seen a place most likely not Earth but breathable, could this really be how the Gods look (which I doubt) or is it the engineers (Space Jockeys) in their true form. Another thing also leads me to think the Jockeys might be humanoid, Scott has always referred to them as "the higher being who challenged the Gods", but could this really mean the Space Jockey's were an advance form of humanity in bio-suites? Our future you might say, who steel this fire (in the form of an urn) from the Gods. They end up on Earth which is terraformed using a pure form of alien, that we've also heard much about, and use this "fire" to create more of themelves before the Gods eventually catch up with them. We know from Scott the Gods deal these Jockeys a terrible fate, so perhaps they were bannished to LV-426 and the alien set against them, which in turn breeds a new creature. Years later an archaeological dig on Earth reveals the key to our creation, a team is sent to investigate but someone gets greedy and the whole thing repeats itself, only this time the Gods were ready, they already knew where we came from and prepare to unleash their wrath on all humanity.
...Not too different from the original synopsis, which FOX denied, but probably way off the mark anyway, lol.
