Well just came back from watching it... can't help but to feel a bit dissapointed. It wasn't a bad movie... but neither a very good one.
I think the main Problem I had was that the atmosphere was all over the place. The very Thing that made Thor 1 great, the Balance between light-hearted Comedy and a dramatic epic was lacking. There was no congruent feel to the movie. Sometimes it became game of thrones dark... sometimes just plain silly... too abrubtly and way too roughly cut.
Story evolving around Jane is a bit odd... but these things I can get easily over with.
The fighting choreography was pretty generic and the cgi looked pretty weak at some parts. Especially after the kickass Dragonball-Fights of MoS, the combats of TtdW felt pretty poor.
On the bright side: the actors (all of them) are rock solid. I mean every single one of them is so fitted for their part. From Hemsworth, Portman to Russo. Of course Hopkins stuns. Pity just how potential like Christopher Eccleston gets wasted for the film.
Once again for me personally Hiddelston steals the Show, he's got some really powerful Dialogue with Russo... loved those parts.
Oh and that Heimdall Moment at the beginning... that was the (unfortunately only) Money shot for me
Another Major plus was the awesome production design.
Overall I'd say it's okay. There's good, there's bad, nothing ugly but nothing great either. I'm a huge fan of the 1st Thor. Out of all the Marvel Heroes he's my absolute favourite... so maybe my expectations were too high. Gonna watch it once more on bulray when it's released... maybe that will change my mind.
