Yes, it was clear Jaimie Alexander's accident prevented some badass scenes, as
Spoiler
While both Fandral and Volstagg have scenes fighting guards, when you see Sif about doing it, the scene cuts abruptly =/

Spoiler
Still, even if he's dead, Loki is still impersonating Odin. Who's going to play him then? :-\

If he really is dead, then that was a pretty lame way to kill him off. Better just recast then, if Hopkins wants out.

Odin cannot be dead. That would be completely ooc for Loki. Odin shall be back!

Nightmare Asylum

Spoiler
Despite what they're saying, I'm under the impression that Odin is still alive somewhere, perhaps being held captive. I'm not sure exactly how the Odinforce works, but maybe he's not even in a physical form at the moment. Maybe Loki killed his 'body', setting up for Thor to receive the Odinforce.

And like Shas said, regardless of whether he is alive or not Loki is impersonating him. So Hopkins would need to appear briefly, unless it's established that between films Loki revealed his true self. Maybe a third film can open with an enslaved Asgard and Loki having been on the throne ruling for quite a while? And Thor has no idea at the moment because, at the end of The Dark World, he left Asgard for Earth. Only time will tell.

I don't think Odin's dead. Loki probably put him in hybernation and hid him somewhere. But still, I find that "twist" in the end was not necessary and not very believable...

Alan Taylor Ashamed of Mid-Credits Scene

Sad to hear. :-\

Nightmare Asylum

He actually released a followup to that apologizing for his comments, and

James Gunn

mentioned that they didn't have very much time or space to film the sequence.

I still found it to be a really great tease, though.

Yep, that makes sense. Something about the set did feel a tiny bit off.

Why do these people even make these movies if they have nothing nice to say about their own projects.

No not at all. It was weird, and quite frankly a breath of fresh air. Something different than what we're used to in the MCU currently.

I thought it was fun, but the tone was different from the rest of the movie.
