Eeenope.  :)

Pacific Rim made the summer. It was all underwhelming until PR.

This.

Even the other stuff I enjoyed didn't leave as much of an impression on me. :P

Yup yup. As much as I enjoyed Into Darkness, Pacific Rim just blew me away.

To me, it was like
- IRON MAN 3: Fun!  ;D
- STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS: Meh.
- MAN OF STEEL: Ok, this was sort of disappointing .___.
- PACIFIC RIM: >_____<!!
- THE WOLVERINE: :D Faith restored!! :D

I thank The Wolverine; I didn't have that much hope on it, and I thought it was going to close my 'disappointment trifecta', but it was a pleasant surprise instead  ;D

Nice to see it #10 on the Top 10 highest grossing movies of 2013. Too bad it won't be there until long when winter movie season starts with Hunger Games 2, Ender's Game, Thor 2 and The Hobbit 2.

also heres some more info on the current state of hollywood,

They even mention a pacific rim sequel.

I think part of the problem is that people don't give new franchises a chance and for whatever reason, trailers perhaps aren't grabbing people's attention as well as they used to. Someone here mentioned that his dad had seen the trailer for Pacific Rim, said it was awful, but was blown away by the film. It seems like word of mouth is the only thing that works anymore.

That someone was me.

I think trailers ought to be shortened from two and a half or three minutes. They outstay their welcome and divulge too much of the story.

^ That.

Teasers are all we need. Reveal just enough to grab people's attention.
