Money is paper that represents wealth in the form of gold.

money is just that. people are to blame for aything bad that comes with it.

Most money is digital nowadays.  And it doesn't represent gold anymore.  Not since 1971.

No money represents gold.  In fact, money is not backed by anything.  If it weren't for the government, that paper/polymer/scrap metal would be utterly worthless.

actually, the material and work put into making it still accounts.

and coins are made of Bronze, which is still a valuable metal.

No, it doesn't.  The market determines value.

It's not bronze, it's an alloy of different metals.

I know! Why won't you Yanks switch! All we have to do is move a decimal point. There's no "12 inches = a foot, 3 feet = a yard, 1760 yards = one mile." f**k, I'm learning it in school right now. It's so f**king irritating and illogical! >:(
The Metric system confuses me. How ironic. I could easily look at samething, like a door and say its 6' x 4' but Id be confused by the metric system. Although some things are easier in metric like bolts and ammo

Self obsessed people that do nothing but talk and never let up so the other person can contribute something.

Don't go out drinking.

I make it a point to not go to "those" type of bars.

That's cause you're not used to it. But for calculations, metric is way, way, way better. No need for fractions, just decimals.

1 km = 10 Dam = 100 hm = 1000 m = 10 000 dm = 100 000 cm = 1 000 000 mm.

1 mi. = 1270 yd. = 5280 ft. = 63 360 in.

I'll take the former over the latter any day.

Im still confused lol

SpaceMarines

And I'm lost in your imperial system.

Let me put it to you this way. I have something that's 138.2 m long. What if I want that in cm? Move the decimal one place to the right, boom! You got 1382 cm. How 'bout km? Move it three to the left, you get 0.1382 km.

Now, if I have something that's 138 yd. long, I can't do any of that if I want to convert it. I have to multiply by 3 or 12, or divide by 1270. It's just stupid. You even use fractions in your inches, which just complicates things even further.

Sharp Sticks

1's and 0's are too complicated? Really?

God, I love being Canadian.

SpaceMarines

You're Canadian!

*high five*

Where 'bouts?

Sharp Sticks

Roundabout Calgary, been up and down Alberta my whole life. Born in Fort Mac, actually. Dragged myself out of the premordial soup. How about you, SpaceMarines my fine man, where do you call home?

And just so nobody accuses me of being off-topic, I hate, uh, slow-moving people. No, Asian ladies behind the wheel.

SpaceMarines

Fellow Albertan, eh? I'm from Edmonton. :)

Sharp Sticks

Nice! I lived there for ten years, switched to Calgary back in '07. Great to hear from another grasslands comrade.
