I had a moron on Facebook tell me animals don't have souls. It was in response to a story similar to this.

I thought, "you arrogant piece of shit. how can you say that? there's more to animals than just basic instinct if something like that is possible".
That article
My mom has always told me that animals are capable of unconditional love, that they'll still love you, even you don't love them in return. I was raised to believe that animals have souls and I shouldn't think otherwise.
I always get pissed off when people treat their animals like furniture, especially when they move and abandon the animal. I understand that some people are not able to take their animals everywhere they move too, but they should find away to keep the animal in their life. Or they just put them down when the animal's health is inconvenient.
Man... I wish I hadn't looked into this thread, even though its been a month after putting my cat, of 15 years, down due to cancer in the lungs and brain. I just don't get why people treat their pets like they're nothing. Treat furniture like furniture, but animal believe that their part of the family, so they should be treated like they're part of the family.
I hear you, Crazy Rich, putting my cat down left me scarred.
