Gotta bitch about this, because it bugs the hell of out me. People who trace or eyeball official artwork and call it fanart! Shit, that's not fanart, that's plagiarism. I understand that there are people who can't draw, I get it, there's a lot of things I can't do (like write or type), but that doesn't give them the right to copy someone else's work. It looks bad and it won't help them improve their skills.
Oh yeah, and people who slap mandibles on human characters and call them human/predator hybrids 9_9 with no thought put into how to make sure the human bone structure can accommodate the added anatomy that are mandibles. (and they try to make them look hot and sexy at the same time )
This is why people instead of saying "pretty cool" "I love" and all the blabla when they have direct contact with artists is actually go deep into the art.
This would firstly spot the people who steal.
And secondly this would give you an overview of how deep a piece can be considered as art (the biggest con because Michael Bay would be off the table instantly HAHA and so some people if asked about their art could go mad because they don't have much to say about it.
)
Honestly I got nothing against what is wrongly called "stealing".
Some of my videos have been taken and I don't give a damn.
I know I made them and this is the reward.
And the fact it is post by someone else we make himself the author of something he didn't made add even more value to my work usually -> Because people pay attention and think it is worth to act like this for such a thing.
Though, I'm not against either for a small credit somewhere, but it's not necessary.
Things start on small sizes like this but if you take them on big scales, you give all the reasons to have ACTA, SOPA, PIPA, whatever law for the internet regulation.
And that I hate in the world
