The fights are better in this one, imo. A couple little things I would've tweaked, but that's about it.

KOTM was -- although enjoyable -- a complete mess in multiple departments

this prolly isn't

The eco-terror angle was a poor reason for unleashing the titans, that and the whole family angle was utter crap. Not to mention they killed serizawa.

If they had ignored the family stuff, and had the titans being released for the sole purpose of killing godzilla, it would've been a step in the right direction.

And don't get me started on the fact that they had basically no buildup for the oxygen destroyer. That was unforgivable.

The KOTM script was really bad.
That said, the film is really respectful of the mythology of this universe. The monsters are overly iconized, which is a really good move. The fights are impressive and technically successful. Then especially this music, this monster opera, was of such power.
Definitely a poorly written film, but what a regressive pleasure.

I have almost no interest in this Godzilla vs Kong.
The film seems equally stupid and sounds quite ugly visually, and I feel absolutely nothing in terms of epic power.

I didn't have this problem. It's normal to have chaotic weather, is one of Ghidorah's skills.

And now, this image, I find it quite ugly. Look at this sky, what a horrible rendering. The colors are dull, bland, unnatural.

I, as a spectator, want to be able to read what's going on on-screen. That's what any spectator should want also. I thought it was many times nearly impossible in KOTM. A shame when the monster fights were selled as the highlight of this movie...

I had zero issue reading the fights in KotM, myself.
