Well, no, it's not like that at all.

They're still Predators. They still hunt things. They still look similar. All that's changed is that now, in the past, they built pyramids.

Terrible analogy anyway.

You know everything about your life and would therefore know what's correct and what's not.

We don't know everything about the history of Predators, so nothing it's a blank slate.

We don't know everything about the history of Predators, so nothing it's a blank slate.

We know that they for a long time have been visiting earth using it as hunting ground,
they hunt alone but have been seen travel in packs,
at some parts in the world they are known as the demon/devil who makes trophys out of men(or something like that), they are drawn to heat and conflict.
As hunters they don't help each other with one prey, either the hunter kills the prey and collects his trophy or the prey kills the hunter and gets a gift from his the one that might be the leader of the pack, like a gun.
The Predator hunting you will have you killed even if it will end him as well, he'll blow himself up and try to take you with him if he admit defeat.
The Predators shown had individual masks, high tech gear and had at least one weapon made from alloy that was unknown to the periodic system.
They had somekind of art/ letters decorating the walls inside their ship that didn't resemble anything known to human culture.

Nothing in Predator or Predator 2 hints or suggests that they are anything else than Alien hunters drawn to heat and conflict.
And within EU it pretty much the same, no pyramids, no human slaves, no helping humans with anything. And when it comes to hunting aliens it's no siding with the creature used as host.
Broken tusk sided with the human cause she was not supposed to be part of the hunt they fabricated.
They CHOOSE what creature they are hunting.
That's why Broken Tusk reacted on the skulls belonging to the other Predator and killed it cause it had broken their code.

Anderson didn't use info from movies or EU and the same goes with the bros.

Having the Predators rule earth as gods, helping humans build stuff like the pyramids is a big f**king step from a creature being a just a hunter from outer space.
In EU they where aliens who's whole culture and society was based on hunting, their law was tied to hunting  and their classes was tied to hunting, they ruled nothing and hunted everything.
The hunt was what they lived for and died for.

Dude, no one is arguing against the idea that Predators making humans build pyramids on Earth was stupid. We all think that.

My apologies then.

Yeah, I get that but I don't think that " it doesn't contradict what's previous been shown" is a argument that justifies Anderson decisions and consekvenses it had to the Predator.
Now, it would be logic if fox would decide to copy Independence Day or War of the Worlds with Predators invadeing earth trying to rule the human race.

Of course it justifies it - he's the writer and director and Fox okayed it.

Doesn't mean people will like it.

No, it doesn't.
The Predator allready had a origin, then comics, books and games expanded from that origin.
Anderson and fox changed the core of that origin and they made a new creature and origin from it and copied it's apperence and name.
That's a remake and they never stated that "The Predator" in Aliens vs Predator was a remake.
There's no way in hell it can be justified.

The Predator never had an origin. It had a shady past at best. Vague mentions of a "demon who makes trophies of man". Really creepy exposition, hardly constitutes an "origin story".

The comics, books, and games moved much further from that origin than Anderson did. One comic had the Predators originating on Earth. Yeah, that's right - The Predator's homeworld was Earth.

What Anderson did sucked, but there's nothing concrete saying it's wrong.

The Predator originating from earth was shown after AVP and that's what you get when you ignore this;
The Predator are an old advanced race of Alien hunters from outer space useing earth as one of their hunting grounds .
If your about to make up a past to these Predators then the bolded part is what you got to work with.
The bolded part didn't fit Andersons taste so he changed it and that's the reason we these days got stupid shit in the EU like the Hish and the predators originating from earth.
"Pour out a little liquor" has a meaning, the Predators that caught our interest as young are dead these days,
The last predator shown on the big screen was the elder in P2.

Eh, whatever, it didn't contradict anything from the previous movies.  If AVP didn't have aliens in it, it would have been a great story for Predator 3.

And if the pyramid had been on another planet in the future, it could be a great Alien movie.

I could see that only b/c the pyramid is a perfect way to show the Alien's ability to move around in tight spaces.

Not to mention a pyramid was supposed to be in Alien. That's where Anderson got the idea, and it's a great idea...in future space.
