Quote from: Mr. Clemens on May 23, 2024, 05:30:13 PMIf the audience have to come up with their own explanations for why something doesn't make sense, it ain't workin'.
I just feel like if fans could get behind the idea that not everything everyone says is 100% accurate then a lot of these things wouldn't be issues, y'know? I feel there's a disconnect between every half-glimpsed background character having a name and a fully fleshed out history to make the universe seem real, and not having people just ... lie, sometimes.

I don't know, I'm too much of a filthy casual.

It's not so significant that it's problem. It seems like a throwaway line in Rogue One, but ultimately one that leads to Chirrut saying Cassian carries his cage wherever he goes, hinting at darkness in his background. Which we more or less see in the film, when he murders a dude who could give him away, goes to snipe Galen (and Chirrut said the Force was dark around him), and later when he flat out says they've done terrible things for the Rebellion.

Plus he just met Chirrut and Baze 5 minutes earlier so him lying works too.

Quote from: Leslye Headland via Den of Geeks"I really toyed with utilizing Darth Bane or mentioning Bane. We do not do it in the first season, but it is obviously the legacy of these practitioners of the dark side," Headland says with a laugh when asked whether the show will finally see the live-action debut of Palpatine and Maul's Sith forefather. "While we don't get into that particular lore, there were some things in Legends that I wanted to drag out because I felt they were really interesting, not only to the storyline but to myself as a fan. I thought, 'Well, I'd love to do that.'"

One particularly exciting reference was the beloved 2004 video game Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, specifically the story's main villain. "Darth Traya really stuck out to me as an inspiration," Headland says.

Quote from: Smithsonian MagThe B-29 bomber's Plexiglas nose was the obvious inspiration for the space freighter Millennium Falcon. Special effects artists replaced the blue screen with stars only in post-production; on set, the actors had to imagine them.

Quote from: Jecki Lon vía EmpireAs soon as we put that makeup on, I went to [showrunner Leslye Headland] and I was like, 'This is David Bowie.' And she was like, 'You're absolutely right.' We had the running joke that it was like Jedi David Bowie. Jedi Bowie, like, duh! It's almost funky '70s, '80s-looking, which is really cool. I was so excited by the braid – as a Star Wars fan, to get a Padawan braid is, like, the sickest thing ever. I was so excited when they put it in. 'Oh my god, I have my own Padawan braid!' It was really cool.

Quote from: THRWhile Ridley was shooting Magpie, Lucasfilm boss Katlheen Kennedy invited her to breakfast in order to pitch her what is currently regarded as Star Wars: New Jedi Order. Together with director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Ridley's beloved Jedi Master, Rey, will reestablish the Jedi Order, and she expects to read screenwriter Steven Knight's script imminently: "I have not read actual words on actual paper, but [a script] is soon coming," Ridley says.

Never watched this person's videos before, but I checked this out after seeing a lot of buzz and enjoyed it. It goes pretty in-depth, even beyond just the experience of the hotel itself.
