Year before last I really got into weight lifting and bulked up to 230lbs. Where as I looked awesome, it was mostly show; I didn't have much strength, just big biceps. I cut back on weight lifting and picked up running, push ups, and pull ups. I now run five miles, 3 days a week, and have lost 60lbs, I also have a lot more strength than before when I was just focusing on looks. Sure, my arms are a lot smaller, but over all I'm in better shape, and can actually roll up the sleeves on my BDUs. ;D I still lift weights on the days I don't run to keep tone and work out what the other exercises don't.

I'm still new to this and adjusting my personal PT schedule as I go along.

I gotta get on a strength and cardio program. Fighters Only ran a really good article a few months back about a plan suited for 9-5 job guys who don't have time for a real workout.

Check it:
Mon--> deadlift paired with ab wheel rollout and bench press paired with a side plank
Wed--> hang clean paired with resistance band anti-rotation and Bulgarian split squat paired with ab wheel rollout
Fri--> squat paired with side plank and chin-up paired with band anti-rotation

Week 1-3, 3 sets and 8 reps
Week 4, deload; same sets and reps w/ reduced wirght
Week 5-7, 3 sets and 5 reps
Week 8, same as week 4
Week 9-11, 3 sets and 3 reps
Week 12, same as 4 and 8

Good job man.

You likely look better than you did before too.

There are a lot of guys who are around 220-230 who think they look good at such a weight, but they are not as lean as they could be.

The fact your strength has gone up, while you took off the weight, is a good indication that you are much more lean now.

170 pounds, if it is very lean ( bodyfat% under 10%), is excellent shape.
