Besides all of this, he simply has no time to do it in ALIENS.

Could have done it while the marines were losing the first fight/getting the first dropship ready or after he left to get the second one.

How? The first dropship had its flight crew, Bishop was nowhere near it. He didn't have time to do it when he got the second one.

What about the possibility that the egg didn't start off as an egg. What if it was just a small embryo, stuck onto a bit of the dropship or sulaco and slowly turns into an egg.
Maybe that's why it's upside down and takes a while to fully mature and produce a face hugger.

He either snuck off and remote piloted the second ship secretly during the fight or lied about the time needed to get it ready to ripley later.

Simple, Bishop had the egg at that point and flew it up to the Sulaco after giving Hicks a sedative while Ripley went for Newt.

Can we all just admit that it doesn't matter, Alien 3 is so great, an absolute masterpiece, that an alien egg can just turn up anywhere for purpose of story.
F**k it, why not two eggs. Three eggs. As many eggs as you can throw at a Conestoga class military vessel.
I think we can all agree on that and put the egg to bed.
