Three New Prey Clips: Deer Chase, Bear Chase, Something In The Sky!

We’re in the final countdown for Prey’s release on the 5th of August on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ for the rest of the world! With these last days agonizingly whittling away, Bloody Disgusting has shared three new clips.

Each clip is over 1 minute long and features segments of larger sequences from the upcoming Predator film: The first clip is called Deer Chase and shows Naru hunting a deer with her dog Sarii.

The second clip, Bear Chase, features the bear charging towards Naru before Sarii leads it away. The third video clip, Something In The Sky, shows Naru and Sarii on the cliff side staring at something coming from the sky.

I was watching this on my laptop and it's actually not that bad looking,  CGI looks fine and the cinematography looks good watching it on an iPhone Doesn't really do it justice

The first film won an Oscar for its special effects so it kind of set the bar (although sure that was a photochemical process not digital).
The First movie did't win an Oscar, it was nominated  ;)  "Inner Space" won Oscar that year in that category/

True! But the CGI like we saw in The Predator was more what I was implying wasn't great.

I still shuddering thinking about that planet reveal shot in Predators, though that's only partly CGI and partly execution

My biggest CGI gripe from Predators is the explosion/flames after Nikolai sets off the mine.
That one didn't stick with me, just went back and rewatched that part and yeah, like weekly TV show budget flame effect

Those scenes did absolutely nothing to get me interested in the movie, but luckily I am already interested.

It's weird they cut the bear scene when they did when the trailers show how that plays out.

Quote from: St_Eddie on Aug 01, 2022, 11:23:02 PMIt looks... fine, I guess, but the clips also make this movie look kinda cheap, with a made-for-TV aesthetic (which it essentially is). It doesn't feel grand and look lush like the original Predator movie did. It all looks a bit slight and low-key, sort of like a fan film. I just can't really find the drive to get excited for this movie, especially not after the last disastrous movie in the series by Shane Black.

Oh, there's plenty of big-wide-grand shots and large scale within this.

It looks... top shelf, I think, but the clips reveal it was clearly initially designed for the theater experience, it is admirably authentic in terms of location and Comanche people actually working on the project, Amber Midthunder being a standout in Legion served her well.

I think it will be more fully formed in the script and ultimately more important than even the original Predator film. Not existing in a heightened reality like Predator and Predator 2 but more our world like Predators but unlike it not reliant on the Predator itself, an already great film with a Predator featuring.

After the shocking turnout from Director Shane Black, I'm surprised to be as excited as I am for this Friday, but that's when Alien and Predator's at their very best.

When you take an already interesting film idea, with themes specific to their particular story and put a creature in it to heighten it, that's why I love this franchise... each film's very unique to itself.

This is the final product. The CGI honesty looked better on the big screen. Watching things on a web compressed YouTube video will make CGI look much worse. When you can watch it in 4K or full HD, it'll look better in my opinion. But yes, this is the final CGI. I'm a CG nitpicker, and in context to the film, none of the final product bothered me.

I'm also factoring in that this film has a much lower budget than the others, which can play into the factor on why it looks the way it does. Not defending it, just giving context.

Maaaaaaan, her outfit looks so clean, not a single dirt or scratch, she looks like a cosplayer  :'(
And this bear chase is messed up so bad, need a music from Benny Hill here.

I'll watch it... but soo far I was let down by Both Avp 1 and 2 and the "F-ing" predator...
Shane black should be ashamed, since he did the awesome film, "the nice guys".
What the hell happened? Did the studio mess with him?

I would honestly say, "the predator" is worse then "avp2"...

While she lacks in muscle mass I think  she makes up for it with her speed, I noticed she throws  her whole body to either get off a hill or when she throws the axe at the end of the first clip. Idk thought it was a neat little detail
