Check Out The Alien: Specimen Teaser Trailer !

The teaser trailer Alien: Specimen, the next Alien: 40th Anniversary Shorts, has been shared to the various Alien Anthology social accounts and is now up to whet your whistles!

It’s the night shift in a colony greenhouse, and Julie, a botanist, does her best to contain suspicious soil samples that have triggered her sensitive lab dog. Despite her best efforts the lab unexpectedly goes into full shutdown and she is trapped inside. Little does she know, an alien specimen has escaped the mysterious cargo, and a game of cat and mouse ensues as the creature searches for a host.

Alien: Specimen is scheduled to be released on IGN (and their YouTube) channel on Friday the 5th at 9am PST/5pm BST. This week’s short was written by Federico Fracchia and directed by Kelsey Taylor.

It's really only used to give an effect to the audience of an "Oh f**k!" moment after we think Ripley and co have made it back safely. Seeing it isn't really important. But up to that point, it's established they bleed acid, so it could be something as little as a paper cut, as demonstrated with the incision Ash gives the facehugger in the first film.

Pretty sure it was wounded. The spitting thing didn't happen 'till the later movies. And on that, the Runner and Res Aliens spit acid (somehow) but they don't drool it. The Alien in this short might be injured or something.
