Well, in Cryptum, we learn a bit more about the various types of Forerunner and their differences. I don't recall the details specifically, but these may be a bit more in line with the Warrior-Servants like the Didact, rather than the stuff that we've seen in the past games that is more fitting of a Lifeshaper like the Librarian.

Went to GameStop the other day to trade some games in I don't play anymore, and saw they already had Halo 4 figures out. Saw a Master Chief and a Grunt. Do not like the Grunt's new design at all.

The grunts are kinda ugly, but in no way do they look um-Halo. And I have no problem with the Elites myself.

My opinion may change when I see them in-game, however.

For all we know, there could even be an in-universe reason why they look different. they could have split off from the main Covenant years ago, gone savage, and aren't even aware that the war is over.
