PROMETHEUS 4K 3D RELEASE

Im looking for  information on this. It's been to long to not happen. So why hasn't it happened?

There is no home video medium to release 3D movies in 4k at this time.

Besides whilst being filmed in 5K it was finished in 2K.
So it would be an upscale with only marginally benefits.

Or they could go back and redo all fx, compositing and 3D post production, but how likely is that, especially without a suitable medium to release it on?

Most likely they'll wait until the finish of this new saga and release a pack with all the movies in 4k, 3d/4k. And for Prometheus hopefully an extended cut

After a little research, a little perspective is needed. VEry few movies are released in 4K bluray as of today only a selected few are. I'm not sure if there is a huge 4K streaming or direct download in the market yet but I guess even todays video cards are marginally getting by playing them. Which the PC market still needs to catch up on.
Too bad, so sad.
